Greenspring Village Chili Cook-Off

It’s been 12 years since I’ve been to Greenspring Village. Back in the day I was an intern at the senior living community when it was starting up it’s news station. More than a decade later it was a huge honor to be invited back to emcee their annual Chili Cook-Off. What I thought was so cool is that  now that little station is known as Channel 6 and they do a LIVE news show every day. Residents often anchor the newscasts! As for the event.. the people were so amazing and the food delicious! Congrats to resident Clint Lambert and staff member Chef Eric for winning Best in Show. Their chili will be entered in the big DC101 Chili Cook-off!

Big Winner Clint!

What a bash!

The 5th annual Newsbabes Bash for Breast Cancer was a huge hit! More than 250 people partied at a pinkified Hamilton DC! The gals and handsome Newsmen in Pink donated more than 10,000 to the Howard Hospital Cancer Center! WUSA9’s JC Hayward.. who is a breast cancer survivor was a riot and brought the house down by bringing the humor to her very serious situation! Thanks again for sporting your pink and supporting such a great cause!

Lil Jon loves the Redskins

Hip-hop artist Lil Jon, known for such number-one hits as “Yeah!” and “Get Low,” hosted and DJed a blowout house music party at The Huxley. Lil Jon, known for his work as a hip-hop artist, producer, and television personality, first got his start as a DJ in Atlanta during the 90s. The Huxley performance – which welcomed house, pop and hip-hop lovers – marked Lil Jon’s first in DC this year. The Atlanta DJ – rocking a Redskins tee – fired up the crowd and cheered “if you didn’t come to party, get out of the club.”
We’re just loving his gear! Cool that Fred Davis stopped by too.

Tickled Pink 2013

With three weeks left before I’m scheduled to pop I was a little nervous about jumping on stage for a fashion show. However, I knew it would be a forgiving crowd because the Tickled Pink Mother-Daughter Tea is all about being a momma! The Lilly Pulitzer fashion show is one of my favorite events. It benefits Children’s Hospital and always draws the best crowd. For the third year in a row we walked the catwalk. Adora even waved to the crowd and did a twirl at the end of the runway! Thank you to everyone who came out to support! Photos by imijphoto.com and Kipp Burgoyne

Fashion for Paws 2013

Nearly $700,000 was raised at a night filled with furry friends dressed to the nines! It was Fashion for Paws 2013, an show stopping production that included many familiar faces of DC and their pooches. I had a great time walking the runway with little Inko. I would’ve brought Atticus again but these days he’s so strong and being me so pregnant I was afraid I’d have a tough time wrangling him on stage.
I was thrilled to be part of the Lilly Pulitzer part of the show. The evening featured fashions from shops you’d find at Tysons Galleria. E! News’ Ashlan Gorse and Pamela Sorensen did an outstanding job as the night’s emcee and Mistress of Ceremonies. Special thanks to Richard and his friends for coming out to show the support! We were really tired for the show this morning.. but the great cause was worth the no sleep! Photos by Rich Kessler Photography and Travis Vaughn

Top fundraising models Susan Ostrowski, Melinda Griffith and Dr. Ashley Gallagher. Susan Ostrowski raised $37,000, followed by Melinda Griffith at $24,000 and Dr. Ashley Gallagher at $17,900.

With Inko!
