Kickin’ Up Support For 2 Causes

Thursday, July 29th, 2010

Womens charity group the Audrey Bouviers hosted a happy hour at Sette Bello that benefited 2 charities.

First, there was Soles4Souls and Kady Hillman’s mission to raise money for her trip to a Honduras orphanage to pass out shoes. Then there was the shoe drive for Shepherd’s Table… all shoes collected are given out to the area’s homeless.

Thank you everyone who came out it was a great success!  See pictures from the event and watch my WUSA9 report below!

Bump or Dump: Tie one on

Thursday, July 29th, 2010

So far I’ve been impressed with GapMaternity. The material is very comfortable. As I enter my 20th week I’ve started to not be so belly shy. The top is paired with a Motherhood maternity skirt that has the built in belly band!

Pick of the Day: Ledo’s Last Day

Tuesday, July 27th, 2010

Sol Tucker sent me these pics… one of the LAST PIZZA made at the original Ledo Pizza in Adelphi.

The owners are taking the pizzaria legend (55 years) to a new location in College Park. Sol took a shot of the shop in it’s last operating hour … where he said the nostalgia was cut short when the power went out during the storms. Watch: Angie shares the shots on TV

Help the Homeless: 2010 Street Soccer USA Cup

Tuesday, July 27th, 2010

If you haven’t had your fill of soccer just yet, come out to watch some games and support a good cause. Street Soccer USA, an organization focused on eradicating homelessness and poverty through soccer programs and community building, along with HELP USA will be holding the 2010 Street Soccer USA Cup in DC this weekend at the Washington Kastles Stadium. The SSUSA Cup will bring more than 200 players — comprised of homeless men and women from around the country — in a competition to see which team can take home the Cup title. The top 8 players will go on to represent the US at the Homeless World Cup, which will be held in Brazil next month. While the soccer matches are free, you’ll have to go online and reserve your e-tickets for the game of your choice. For more information on the full schedule, check out their website at streetsoccerusa.org.

When: Friday, July 30 – Sunday, August 1

Where: Washington Kastles Stadium
Corner of 11th & H Sts. NW DC (Right above Metro Center stop)
