Big thanks to dear friends Rebecca Cooper and Jill Collins for throwing the best Sip ‘n’ See at Carmine’s for Bob and Alison Starling’s little Ava. It was a wonderful way to get the babies together (which you can tell Ava is already crushin’) and show them off to all our great friends in the business! The Blues Help Beat Blood Cancer

Wow. That’s the best way to put it. My first experience at the Leukemia Ball is one I surely won’t forget. This is such a gorgeous event from the fabulous crowd, the detailed decor.. the moment you walk in the feeling is grand.

This year I was honored to quad-emcee with three of my girlfriends from the other three stations. It was quite the production.. we even had a full rehearsal earlier in the day. It paid off because the event was a complete success. The Leukemia  & Lymphoma Society’s National Capital Chapter surpassed it’s goal of $90,000 raising $2.7 Million dollars for blood cancer research. How awesome is that!

Tammy Darvish was honored with a big award for all that she has done in this fight. She was so dynamic on stage and really inspired the crowd.

Dana Carvey was hilarious… imitating all the recent Presidents and weaving political humor into his performance. He helped us give away 2 Mercedes and then  Jim Belushi and his band hit the stage and kept the party rockin’ in to the night! Thank you to all who came out to support LLS and those fighting this battle everday!

A Shaving Success!

Union Station hosted more emotion than it could handle when 46 mothers of children with cancer united. The 46 Mommas took it all of the top at the 2nd annual Shave for the Brave benefiting the St. Baldrick’s Foundation. Why 46? Because that’s how many kids are diagnosed each weekday with some form of cancer.

Arlington’s Danielle Leach who lost her son to brain cancer in 2007 help organize the event. Celebrity shavers Arch Campbell, Andrea Roane, John Kelly, Alison Starling, Natasha Barrett, Tommy McFly and Mary Amons came out to lend their helping hand too. Radio personalities Bob Madigan and Mike O’Meara did more than just clip the momma’s hair.. inspired by the night they shaved THEIR heads too.PR at Partners provided the stylists for the event. After they lost their locks the ladies got makeovers and bald and beautiful photos by Tim Coburn.

“Honoring the Promise” with the Stars

Nancy Brinker addresses the crowd

“You are the future” Ambassador Nancy Brinker, founder of the Susan G. Komen Foundation told a crowd of young Washingtonians. We attended the Komen Young Professionals reception held at a pink-lit Peacock Cafe’ in Georgetown. The event help kick off the buzz for what promises to be one of the premiere events of the Fall: Komen’s “Honoring the Promise” Gala on October 28th at The Kennedy Center. Last year, the non-profit celebrated 30 years of trying to find a cure and saving lives along the way. Last year’s star-studded gala included presenters Laura Bush, Gabrielle Union, Cynthia Nixon, Tory Burch… performers like Olivia Newton John, Lynda Carter.. and the Australian pop star who’s dating one of the Jonas Brothers, Delta Goodrem. That passionate evening raised a phenomenal $2 million dollars.
