WUSA9's Kristin Fisher Marries

Congrats are in order for WUSA9’s Kristin Fisher. Our former morning show reporter (she’s moved to the day shift …sniff ) married her true love Walker over the weekend. The gorgeous ceremony was held at The Church of the Holy City in DC… and a rockin’ reception with an extraordinary view followed at the Hay-Adams Hotel. Highlights included a jaw-dropping beautiful bridal gown, a sweetly executed toast by the bride’s sister Kara and out-of-this world party favors: moon pies and freeze-dried ice cream. Hey what do you expect from a bride who is the daughter of two NASA astronauts. It was great to catch up with some 9NEWS colleagues too.. Jessica Doyle, Andrea Roane and Larry Lewis. I think it’s fair to say from all of us.. best and bright wishes to the newlyweds!

On your marks, get set, GO! Turner Classic Movies  has a serious itch to share their love for movies through their Road to Hollywood tour. From the Golden Gate City to our Nation’s Capital, the month-long tour will be hitting 5 different cities nationwide. TCM is thrilled to invite fellow movie lovers to this screening in DC April 8th! The Road to Hollywood tour is the event leading up to the first-ever TCM Classic Film Festival in Hollywood, where fans are given the chance participate in panel discussions and even meet the genius minds and faces behind legendary cinematic works.

Download your ticket: http://www.tcm.com/roadtohollywood

Event Details: On April 8th at 8PM at the Avalon (5612 Connecticut Ave, NW), Ben Mankiewicz (TCM’s weekend daytime host) and producer George Stevens Jr. (founding director of the American Film Institute and co-producer of the Kennedy Center Honors) will introduce THE MORE THE MERRIER (1943), a highly entertaining film directed by Stevens’ father.  Jean Arthur and Joel McCrea star as a pair forced to share a D.C. apartment during a wartime housing shortage.  Charles Coburn won an Oscar for his deliciously comic performance.  This is a unique opportunity for our DC film buffs to screen a classic on the big screen and hear directly from experts Ben and George on the making of the movie.
