Great Eats: 901 Restaurant

Recently I had one of the best meals I’ve had in a long time at the Penn Quarter’s 901 Restaurant. The menu is filled with unique American-Asian cuisine.  I loved that the menu actually was lit.. so when you opened it you could see everything perfectly! I found the appetizers to be delicious and the meat so tender. I highly recommend the Craft Beer Satays which are 901 lager marinated chicken and beef tips in a curry peanut sauce, with Thai basil. I found the Chinese Spiced Duck Breast to be so tender too. The sweet potato puree it was in was delcious! Another hot item is the citrus XO Shrimp over polenta cake which was a hit at our table.I would definitely go back and bring a group of friends! Such a warm atmosphere!

This tender chicken over yakisoba noodles reminded me of my visits to Japan!

Fashion’s Night Out

Pounding Rain, 2 and half hours sitting in traffic.. nothing could keep me away from Fashion’s Night Out. I joined good girlfriends to toast FNO Georgetown at the VIP reception held at L2. From their we made our rounds to Dean & Deluca, Nectar Skin Bar, Intermix  and more. We enjoyed Citronelle’s fashion show and great wining and dining at Peacock Cafe’ after hours.  Check out more pictures from DC’s most fashionable night!

Oh and of course you know who had to partake in FNO! Check out her new boots.

Eye Gazing Party sparks “Love at first sight?”

A new dating trend hits the DC area. They’re called Eye Gazing Parties. With men on one side women on the other the idea is to stare into each others eyes for 2 minutes. The hope is that eye contact can spark a connection. A recent party was held at Tabaq Bistro on U Street Northwest. The Washington Redskins Cheerleaders and ESPN 980  hosted their calendar Premiere Party at Public Bar on 18th street downtown. In addition to performing the ladies also took part in a fashion show. Lots of sharpies were at work as the gals signed copies of their latest calendar, shot at the Paradisus Punta Cana resort in the Dominican Republic. Watch my clip below and see why this year’s covergirl Dawn is quite the Cinderella story.  Related: Pre-order your Redskins Cheerleaders calendar

Artists Help Save DC's Cherry Blossoms

Recently, a dozen local artists took to the tidal basin to create their interpretations of the cherry blossoms. Those paintings would eventually pay off. PROJECT:Arbor Day hosted by local artist Don Patron at District was an art show auction that raised money to help save the blossoms damaged by recent snowstorms. The event was a huge success.. $11,000 raised for the Trust for the National Mall to go towards rehabilitating the  trees.

Goals for Good April 24th

David playing in college

Okay hunks hitting the field for a great reason. Need I say more.  My gal pal Keri Ann Meslar and power player behind the popular Blondes vs Brunettes comes from such a great family.  Her brother, David Meslar  aka cutie-pie is now raising his racket to raise awareness about Alzheimer’s. Goals for Good will be an annual event held to raise money for the Alzheimer’s Association right here in Washington, DC. Every 70 seconds, somebody is diagnosed with Alzheimer’s. The Alzheimer’s Association is committed to finding a cure for Alzheimer’s and providing much needed support to those affected by this disease.

Each donation of $10 is considered admission to the game and the after-party at George. Tickets will be $20 at the door. Of course, larger donations are welcome! To make a donation, please visit the official fundraising page at
