Siriano, Wharton headline 'Chic' Affair

A panel of wedding pros gave advice, tips and how-to’s at ‘A Chic Affair’ to prepare Washington’s brides-to-be for their special day. The experts included Project Runway winner & bridal designer Christian Siriano, TV personality and style guru Paul Wharton, the Dandelion Patch’s Heidi Kallett, and award-winning event designer Jaime Greenwald. Brides brought along husbands, mothers and friends to The Historical Society of Washington DC to mingle with top wedding vendors of the area – featuring jewelry, stationary, honeymoon planning, cakes & confections, and more. Guests were also treated to complementary tastings, a catering demo by Chef Jacques Haeriner, and a high-fashion briday runway show. A Chic Affair was produced by RGI Events. Real Housewives' Cat Talks New Book, That Royal Kiss

Royalty was the theme at a Real Housewives of DC party held downtown at Eden Lounge. Sassy Brit Cat Ommanney along with fellow housewives Mary Amons and Stacie Turner celebrated her new book, ‘Inbox Full.’

VIDEO: CLICK TO SEE ANGIE’S REPORT ON WUSA9

The book called ‘Inbox Full’ chronicles Ommanney’s search for a new life and love via text messages kept over the last 4 years. Cat tells us it also delves into the reason she had to go public about her tryst with Prince Harry. WUSA9 content contributor Leigh Macdonald went one on one with Cat about everything from a 2nd season to that ‘World Class Kiss!’

As for what’s ahead, Ommaney was recently spotted wearing a battery pack at this NY book launch. It has us asking are the wives back for a 2nd season? Ommaney wouldn’t say YES but said there is something definitely in the works and that she’s been in talks with a couple production companies.

Princess Stacie? Also revealed at the party: Housewife Stacie Turner is a Princess now in Nigeria. Stacie’s husband Jason said it recently happened after Stacie reunited with her birth father. Stacie was adopted through the D.C. adoptive system and recently undertook a difficult, yet ultimately successful, search to find her birth father.

Sweet 16 celebration, for a sweet girl and a sweet charity

R&B star Ginuwine and his wife Tonya Lumpkin, previously known as rapper Sole, hosted their daughter Cypress Lee’s Sweet 16 at DC hotspot Eden to benefit the Somaly Mam Foundation – a charity that aims to end modern-day human trafficking. This was not your ordinary spoiled-child Sweet-16… the celebration raised over $2,000 for the charity, as Cypress’ guests were asked to donate money at the door in lieu of gifts. Before making her birthday wish and blowing out the candles, Cypress enjoyed the smooth singing of Father Ginuwine for a very special a cappella ‘Happy Birthday song.’ Notable guests at the bash included Paul Wharton of Bravo’s Real Housewives of DC, celebrity plastic surgeon Dr. Ayman Hakki, and 14-year-old sensation DJ Young Music. Scrumtious hors d’oeuvres were provided from Cafe Asia and cupcakes from Frosting: A Cupcakery.

Michaele Salahi 'The Barbie'

HeroBuilders.com is at it again… according to Politico the doll mimic-makers say Michaele Salahi’s agent contacted them about making the doll. The couple will get a portion of the sales.

Video: DC Housewives Private Party, Salahi a No Show

Following a week of very public combative exchanges between Michaele Salahi and the media and Michaele Salahi and the rest of the girls.. the alleged White House party crasher decided not to attend Bravo’s official premiere party for the Housewives of DC. Michaele and hubby Tareq held their own premiere at a DC club downtown.  Read Full Story here…  Watch my report from the party including an interview with Mary Amons who admits there’s rising tension between the ladies.

We caught up with the rest of the gang… Lynda.. who told me after Tareq threw wine on her last week at a press junket she thought it would be only appropriate to remain a target by wearing Target. Cat looked striking in black… and told me she wears mostly vintage consigment dresses. Stacie sparkled like a gem and raved about how she longs to meet 9NEWS legend J.C. Hayward (who was on the guest list).  And my personal friend Mary.. as always was a perfect 10 and +1 for great personality.  Tune in to the WUSA Morning Show Friday.. I go one on one with Mary who reminds this is a show about 5 women not ‘one couple’.

Defending the Housewives of DC (Video)

I’ve never seen one episode of any of Bravo’s Housewives shows… but I plan to tune in for the Housewives of DC. I’m amazed at how much backlash the gals/show is getting before it even airs. Come on people this is entertainment. You know what the Housewives franchise is all about.. so there’s no need to act surprised. In all reality it’s kinda neat we’ll get to see some familar faces and places on the small screen. For those who say these ladies are far from ‘Real’ … C’mon. Gimme a break. They’re real people who really live in the metro area (how many of you Virginians out there say ‘DC’ when outsiders ask you where you’re from?!?). I found out they also have human kids too. All of this hype and hate has me mumbling a phrase I’ve used often in the newsroom over the years: ‘It’s just TV’
