What a bash!

The 5th annual Newsbabes Bash for Breast Cancer was a huge hit! More than 250 people partied at a pinkified Hamilton DC! The gals and handsome Newsmen in Pink donated more than 10,000 to the Howard Hospital Cancer Center! WUSA9’s JC Hayward.. who is a breast cancer survivor was a riot and brought the house down by bringing the humor to her very serious situation! Thanks again for sporting your pink and supporting such a great cause!

Newsbabes Bash: Selling-Out to Save Lives

It was a sell-out crowd at the Howard Theatre for the 4th annual Newsbabes Bash for Breast Cancer. Making the night extra special..an inspiring speech by NBC News’ Andrea Mitchell a breast cancer survivor and the debut of the hi ghly anticipated “Men in Pink.” DJ Flounder did a fab job keeping the energy up in the newly renovated theater.

We also spotted a couple Redskins… Derrick Dockery and Lorenzo Alexander with their beautiful wives. In addition to dozens of newswomen and men notable guests included: MIX 107.3’s Aly Jacobs, FRESH FM’s Tommy McFly and Kelly Collis, EB and Matt Valdez from the Sports Junkies and VA Congressional candidate Mark Gibson.

Big Surprise at Newsbabes Bash Kick Off

Thank you to everyone who came out for the Newsbabes Bash Kick Off at the new Kiehl’s at Tysons Corner. The store’s President Chris Salgardo surprised us with a $5,000 check to donate to the GW Mammovan which provides free screenings to women who can’t afford them in the area. Pink lemonade and Georgetown Cupcakes made the evening even sweeter. Also we announced wonderful details for our big bash benefiting the GW Mammovan.. save the date:

Grio 100: Maimah Karmo… A Warrior for Women

I am so thrilled to announce that DC’s Maimah Karmo has made the list of the 2012 The Grio 100. TheGrio’s 100 History Makers in the Making features 10 individuals in 10 different fields who have a large-scale and positive impact on the lives of Americans. Maimah Karmo, a breast cancer survivor and found of The Tigerlily Foundation has helped thousands of young women learn about breast cancer. She’s also helped save them through her programs and offering financial support. NBC News will consider some of the Grio 100 stories to feature on it’s network newscast. We hope they pick Maimah’s inspirational story! Watch our interview below.
