Blonde's Big Win, Break 5 Year Losing Streak

Click to see BVB TV shout out on WUSA9

I admit it.  It took a couple days to accept it.

The BLONDES win big… the BRUNETTES gave it their best. Fellow Bru Carissa Maguire was not bitter after the heartbreaking loss saying it was a ‘great game in overtime.’ In the end the Blondes prevailed beating Team Brunette in O-T 26-20.  The MVP goes to…. all of the wonderful ladies regardless if they sport the pink or blue. Together they raised more than $100,000 for the Alzheimer’s Association.  It’s the kind of touchdowns… that touch lives.  Way to go Blondes vs Brunettes 2010.

Sex & The City 2 Screening, What DC Wore & Says

WATCH NOW: SATC2 Screening at AFI on WUSA9 TV

We came, we saw, we wore stilettos.. wedges.. platforms and even flashy flats!

Katherine Kennedy, Courtney Robinson, Amanda Polk and Nina Snow

There wasn’t an extra seat left in the historic AFI Silver Theatre for the official Warner Bros. & Moet-Chandon screening of Sex and the City 2.  Here’s what some of Washington’s top fashionistas had to say after the Champagne & Cinema night:
My favs were many of Samantha’s one liners (like “ohhh Charles of my Labia” instead of Charles of Arabia) – HAH! -Kristina Dorville, Government

I appreciated how they focused on what real women go through from being single, married, kids and menopause, lol. -Maggy Francois, Greater Washington Fashion Chamber of Commerce

I wish there was more flashbacks to their youth when they first arrived in NYC. It was a blast of a movie that sure didn’t disappoint but left me holding my breath for the trilogy.
-Katherine Kennedy, KMK PR

Movie Times: Sex and the City 2

SATC is like seeing old friends again. Everyone smiles when their favorite comes on the screen. I was sort of disappointed that they took the ladies out of NYC. I always enjoyed finding out the new hot restaurants, night clubs, stores. -Amanda Polk, Philanthropist

I had such a great time with all of the girls and loved the Moet combo. -Courtney Robinson, ABC7 Reporter

I loved the flashbacks to them first arriving in new york and samantha getting kicked out of the country for making out on the beach was classic. -Lauren Pomponio, Muscle Milk

Loved: The dynamic about mothers was especially lovely to share with my mom and I felt like it helped me better understand how it must have been to raise me as a single parent
-Carissa Maguire, Event Planner

I liked some of the outfits and how the middle east was portrayed as modern and old, extravagant and over the top in some ways and simple and 3rd world in other ways…that is soooo true🙂  -Dr. Alex Naini, Aesthetic Dental Spa

Pros: Great fashion, Aidan is hot, loved Carries hair (but hated a couple of outfits where her boobs were bursting out. It looked a bit desperate). Cons: There was a TON of advertising -Jenny Goff, Teacher

I was expecting more fashion but loved when the middle eastern women de-robed w/ the spring collection of some known designers. -Christine Brooks-Cropper, GWFCC

I also like how they show that no ones life is perfect. If you are single, married, or have kids, there are always new challenges! -Keri Ann Meslar, Philanthropy/Events

Andrea Roane, Wes Vaughn , Suzanne Mansfield and Jenny Goff

Oh Snap! Social Safeway Gala

Finally!  The construction is over and the new Social Safeway is here. The opening of the Georgetown grocery store such a big deal even former President Bill Clinton sent a letter to be read at the ceremony. This place is awesome… so much so it may be my weekly stop for produce and sushi on the way home from work to home in Virginia. I couldn’t find anyone more excited about the shop’s completion than my hot date Carissa Maguire who lives just a block from the store. (she returned this morning cause she couldn’t get enough) Between the ‘Safeway’ step n repeat, the rockin’ band near the cafe’ bar and incredible swag- wine and groceries in an eco friendly shopping tote, it was  a night that had DC dancin’ down the aisles.

Carissa eats sushi!

CBS News’ Nancy Cordes due in 1 week and husband!

Safeway’s Tawanna who is also a 9NEWS morning show fan!

Goals for Good April 24th

David playing in college

Okay hunks hitting the field for a great reason. Need I say more.  My gal pal Keri Ann Meslar and power player behind the popular Blondes vs Brunettes comes from such a great family.  Her brother, David Meslar  aka cutie-pie is now raising his racket to raise awareness about Alzheimer’s. Goals for Good will be an annual event held to raise money for the Alzheimer’s Association right here in Washington, DC. Every 70 seconds, somebody is diagnosed with Alzheimer’s. The Alzheimer’s Association is committed to finding a cure for Alzheimer’s and providing much needed support to those affected by this disease.

Each donation of $10 is considered admission to the game and the after-party at George. Tickets will be $20 at the door. Of course, larger donations are welcome! To make a donation, please visit the official fundraising page at http://www.goalsforgood.com

Oh Snap! Cherry Bombs

WASHINGTON, DC (OMG)– The DC release of ‘The Runaways’ starring Kristen Stewart as Joan Jett and Dakota Fanning isn’t out til Friday but some young Washingtonians got a chance to see it early…  and it was the (cherry) bomb!  Apparition Films hosted the cocktails at L2 Lounge before the special screening at the AMC Georgetown.

Watch: ‘The Runaways’ Screening Party

I went to the screening and all YEAH I got the T-shirt! Below: Makeda Saggau-Sackey, Katherine Kennedy, Kristina D’Ambrosio and Carissa Maguire

Oh Snap! Tigerlily is fierce

It may be March Madness but Washington got wild about the football stars who turned out to support the ‘Tigerlily Kick-Off for Breast Cancer’. Redskins Jason Campbell, Lorenzo Alexander and Kedric Golston spoke from the heart to a crowd packed Josephine on Vermont. The ladies of the night: Tigerlily founder and breast cancer survivor Maimah Karmo & dentist Dr. Alex Naini who planned the party that will help so many young women from the metro area!

Birthday with Solid Friends & LiquidA

Thanks to sister-for-life Kristina Dorville who took it back old school to Arlington to celebrate my life. How old you ask? According to the picture on the right..I’d say about 5. (And while we’re on this picture why not add: cheeky Carissa is a supermodel- had to steal that one from Lauren P)

It’s a great example of a carefree night had by all at the Clarendon Grill in Arlington. Apparently, there was another girl named Katie celebrating her birthday too but my good friends made it clear to the band there was truly only ONE party in the house! All you had to do was look for the front row of friends who created the first ever ‘hit line’. Yep excessive ‘fist pumping’ was in the air and our energetic ring leader was none other than good friend Katherine Kennedy. If our performance didn’t win you over chances are we had you at “Want a mini red velvet cupcake from Bakeshop?”  Justin the owner of the new Arlington joint was so sweet to send dozens of the birthday bites our way.  [Pictured above: Carissa, Jesse, Dr. Alex, Angie & Lauren P. BELOW: AOII love from Stephanie, Alicia, Kymberly & Sandra Elizabeth]

Don’t forget the liquid that kept us rockin’… LiquidA that is!

PS: Dear friends, I love you. xxAngie
