Correspondents Dinner

Journalists from all networks .. national and international, print and radio turned out for the annual Correspondents Dinner at the Washington Convention Center. WUSA had a nice little table too. I have to say Rep. Anthony Weiner and The Daily Show’s Larry Wilmore both killed it on stage— and anyone who’s been to these dinners know– this is one crowd that’s tough to crack.

Remembering Mamie

Former CNN reporter Elizabeth Manresa and her husband Teddy Eynon hosted Monaco Nights to benefit Mamie’s Mile. 10% of the night’s sales at Bloomingdale’s Chevy Chase went to the organization that helps Childrens Hospital. Mamie’s Mile honors the memory of Elizabeth and Teddy’s beautiful daughter Mamie Grace. Mamie passed away at only 4 months following a brave fight and complications from heart surgery.

Baby Shower: Newsies Celebrate Future 'Onesie'

I am so blessed to have incredible women in my life. In the news business many of my colleagues have become my role models. Strong, smart, beautiful and successful at striking the balance between job and family. My deepest thanks to ABC7’s Rebecca Cooper for opening her home to host a sweet shower for me. It was good for the soul to sit and dish with the girls somewhere outside of the crazy never-ending news wheel.
