Renting baby clothes

Let’s be real. Buying expensive baby clothes is just ludicrous. At the rapid rate they grow, the stuff they spit all over it… when it comes down to it.. .it’s just not worth it. That’s why when I heard about Borrow Baby Couture I was sold. It’s basically rent the runway for baby. Those high end designers you don’t even buy yourself… you can now get for little her or him for a fraction of the cost. I ordered Adora a Moschino dress for her dad’s birthday weekend.  Baby couture is so cute especially when you don’t pay full price. Right now BBC carries only clothes for girls but it will soon be introducing little boy stuff too.  By the way BBC provides the packaging and postage to mail it all back.

It came int he cutest box with a tag marked with return date

The funky duck in the bandana gave it a little edge 🙂

Back was super cute too!

Having a baby has got me obsessed with embroidery. I love it on dresses, bibs and yes burp cloths.

Threads unite for Pakistan

“If everyone gives a thread, the poor man will have a shirt”… That was the motto of the fashionable and philanthropic night! Held at the Westin Arlington Gateway,  Threads of Unity was an evening to benefit Fashion for Pakistan Flood Relief.  The Pakistanian-inspired, couture fashion show was MC’d by Newseum’s Sonya Gavankar McKay and showcased the Nomi Ansari 2011 collection. The show featured international models and celebrities like Miss DC USA, Heather Swann, with a special presentation by the Technical Amendment Dance Team. The event was managed by Sofia HD and Nauman Chaudhry.

Special thanks to Yulia Mikhalchuk of ShutterBloom for the fantastic photos!

Tales (and tops) of an infant clothes addict

Guilty as charged. Since I found out I was expecting I’ve been buying clothes for both sexes. At first I thought I was having a girl so I couldn’t help myself.. I started buying girl stuff, like this infant couture top.

Then I changed my mind (more on that later) and believed I’m having a boy. I still do. So I started buying ‘lil man’ clothes. I found I just couldn’t control myself. They are so darn cute. Anyone else have this problem? I’m wondering if it’s normal for ‘rookies’.

In other baby clothes news… lookie lookie at the most adorable onesie my girlfriend Krista Johnson got me from The Magic Wardrobe in Georgetown. The thought of future ‘burp up’ on the precious gold birds and nests already breaks my heart.  It’s so pretty.
