Dandelion Patch Grand Opening in Leesburg

I’m loving Leesburg these days.. mostly because I’m out there a lot more with my sister living there now. Well for all of you who love great stationary, Lilly, Vera and all those cute lady boutiquy things you’ll love The Dandelion Patch. Owner, Heidi Kallett just opened her 4th store. The new shop is in The Village At Leesburg. Spotted at the ribbon cutting: Loudoun County Woman co-publisher Dan Doll, Mayor Kristen Umstattd and a too cute for words Little Miss Old Dominion Hannah Reece.

She had them on she was looking hot! Happy Birthday to Leigh Macdonald our NiceShoesNoDrama Queen! It was great gathering with the girls at Cafe’ Milano to celebrate. Special thanks to Kimberly Suiters for organizing it all!

Sweet gift for all guests from the birthday girl!

Showin’ the Leesburg Love

A typically remote Leesburg was bustling with excitement for their 10th Annual Business Awards, recognizing the town’s top businesses. Guests included Dr. Sheila Johnson co-founder of BET and partner in the Wizards, the Capitals and the Mystics.

The George C. Marshall Award, the town’s most coveted award went to the owner of Tuscarora Mill, South Street Under and Fireworks, Kevin Malone. On a personal note, I’m starting to get to know this historic town. My sister recently moved there so I’m spending a lot of time out on N. King Street. They have the cutest antique shops and now I’ve found a new great coffee spot called Shoes. It use to be an old shoe shop… you can feel the nostalgia the second you step in. Ladies of Leesburg Gather for Japan

A group of Loudoun County women gathered for a “fun-with-a-purpose” girls night out. Organized by Ladies of Leesburg, women gathered for a no-RSVP, no presssure night with one objective. They brought their appetites to Travinia Italian Kitchen in the trendy Village of Leesburg. The restaurant donated 10% of the group’s sales to the Japan Earthquake relief. The women also enjoyed discounted shopping at the The Dandelion Patch, another new addition to the Village. Visit niceshoesnodrama.com for more!

Siriano, Wharton headline 'Chic' Affair

A panel of wedding pros gave advice, tips and how-to’s at ‘A Chic Affair’ to prepare Washington’s brides-to-be for their special day. The experts included Project Runway winner & bridal designer Christian Siriano, TV personality and style guru Paul Wharton, the Dandelion Patch’s Heidi Kallett, and award-winning event designer Jaime Greenwald. Brides brought along husbands, mothers and friends to The Historical Society of Washington DC to mingle with top wedding vendors of the area – featuring jewelry, stationary, honeymoon planning, cakes & confections, and more. Guests were also treated to complementary tastings, a catering demo by Chef Jacques Haeriner, and a high-fashion briday runway show. A Chic Affair was produced by RGI Events. Many people have asked  about Adora’s room. Thanks to Katharine Hauschka we’ve got a couple shots. Originally I wanted an ‘all white’ theme but soon found that brown and neutral accents worked nicely. You wouldn’t think but it was really tough trying to find ‘all white’ stuff that went together. I like how it turned out even with the controversial Mona Lisa. 🙂

'Dandelion Patch' branches out to DC

Congrats to Heidi Kallett for opening her first store in Washington.. the Dandelion Patch comes to Georgetown. My fave location is at Reston Town Center– it’s where I get my personalized stationary! Kallett cuts the ribbon with the help of  Katherine Kennedy, Annie Lou Bayly and Pamela Sorensen.
