‘…as we make our city – the District of Columbia – the greatest city in the world!’ – DC Mayor Vincent C. Gray

The Walter E. Washington Convention Center filled with 11,000 loyal supporters for the DC Mayor Vincent C. Gray Inaugural Gala. Hosted by Darian ‘Big Tigger’ Morgan of the Big Tigger Show and Jamie Foster Brown of S2S Magazine, the gala was a black-tie celebration complete with great food, drinks, dancing and entertainment. Grammy Award nominated R&B artist, Raheem Devaughn, and the legendary ‘Godfather of GoGo’, Chuck Brown kept the party alive, performing songs for every age. Mayor Gray took the stage to show appreciation and recognized many of his fellow officials including Chairman Kwame R. Brown, Councilmember At-Large Michael A. Brown, and former mayor and current Ward 8 Councilmember Marion Barry. Other notable guests included immediate and distant family members of Gray, all sponsors of the Gray campaign, lobbyists like Rhoda Washington, President of the GWFCC Christine Brooks-Cropper, DC Housewife Stacie Turner, the current Miss DC Stephanie Williams,  and more.

Tommy's Paints the Town- Orange

Tommy Hilfiger was in town to host Fashion’s Fight Against MS– an ORANGE Event. Held at the beautiful Washington Club in Dupont, the runway show included local models and DC Housewives’ Michaele Salahi, who recently announced she has MS. Hilfiger has a close tie to the cause too.. his sister battles the disease. On DC fashion, Hilfiger said Obama is one of the best dressed politicians but Michelle ‘takes the cake.’ He added the key to being fashionable is keeping it classic– when you try to hard you end up looking ridiculous, he said. More of my interview with the American designer will air Friday during the WUSA Morning Show.
