Bob’s Neverland 1st Birthday Party

“To live will be an awfully big adventure.” ~ Peter Pan

As Baby Bob turned one we thought it’d be fun to encourage everyone to “never grow up” at least for a day. While this milestone is one to celebrate it’s a reminder of just how fast time really does fly by.  At Bob’s Neverland more than dreams were born. There was face paint, balloons, Tinkerbell and even a real baby alligator! A magical day indeed.

A chance to live

Life. It’s something so many of us take for granted. It’s hard to think it’s something that others spend every day fighting for. Well it was awesome to see that so many in our community continue to give those people, specifically children. Hundreds came together to help give the chance to live on. At Chance for Life you really get to see goodness of our area at work. It was a wonderful event inspired by beautiful Kennedy Snyder. She is now 12 and still working everyday to beat pediatric spinal cord cancer. Chance for Life has benefited her fight and other kids like her by donating hundreds of thousands to research. Thank you to everyone who came out for a wonderful night of poker and dancing at the City Tavern Club to make a difference. It was great to have the support of my News4 colleagues too! Love ya’ll!

Hey VA! LIVE from Reston

What a beautiful February day. The weather was perfect, in the high 60’s. We went jacketless and loved seeing all the stores and coffee shops keep their doors wide open for customers. Another special treat.. my colleague Doug Kammerer decided to do his weather LIVE from Reston Town Center for all the news shows.

We popped by and Adora got a little air time and showed she clearly has a taste for broadcasting! Doug also mentioned how this is hometown turf for us. We both proudly attended Herndon High School. Doreen and Jim couldn’t help but take a jab at him. Check it out below!

My 1st NBC Health & Fitness Expo

WOW! Everyone said I would be impressed by the size of the NBC Health & Fitness Expo. This thing is massive. I had the best time spending Saturday with my colleagues and meeting so many great viewers. There were upbeat aerobic and dance demos, hoola hooping, hip hop and even a baby diaper race. Everyone was moving! I also got the chance to moderate a panel on Natural Health and found it really informative. Best part of the day? I reunited with my basketball coach from Korea. It’s been 17 years and she looks every bit the same! She told me she never misses the Health Expo because she learns new things. I believe her. I remember back in the day when I struggled with my weight it was Coach Hicks who told me… if you just walk 30 minutes a day you’ll see a difference. She was always such a great motivator when it came to getting fit. Remember the Expo is all day Sunday from 9am-5pm at the Washington Convention Center. It’s FREE!
