Pinkberry Swirls into DC

“IT’S JUST FROZEN YOGURT!” my co-anchors exclaimed on the morning show after I reported that 2,000 people lined up, waited for hours to get the first lick from famous fro-yo place Pinkberry.  But is it “just” that.. or is there something just that good about the cold stuff? You tell me.

Pinkberry’s grand opening had Washingtonian’s swirling around the block to sample the tasty treat. Since introducing the frozen yogurt craze in California, Pinkberry is now popping up around the East Coast including DC at the new location on Connecticut and M Street.

Cajun Takes DC

D.C. tastemakers attended the VIP opening of The Cajun Experience restaurant! It’s the newest addition to the Dupont dining scene.

A week before Fat Tuesday the celebration couldn’t be more timely. We caught up with  Executive Chef Bryan Crosswhite who boasts he has no formal training in the kitchen… his food all comes from family traditions and passed down recipes.

Check out the story I shared on WUSA9′ s Morning Show.

Try The Cajun Experience for yourself at 1825 18th Street NW! Live music on Friday and Saturday Nights with patio seating in the Spring.

Mama Mia Flash Mob at Dupont Circle

Dancing in Dupont: In local buzz, a MOB takes over Dupont Circle! Bowen McCauley Dance and DC Cowboys coordinated the public Mamma Mia performance.

It was one of 7 dance mobs performed in the area as part of “Dance Is the Answer,” a two week celebration through hundreds of classes and open rehearsals. Thanks Maurisa Potts for the awesome video submission.

Peep Show featuring Salahis, DC Snowstorm

My buddy Jennifer Lee at the Washington Post reminds us of the paper’s annual Peep Show Contest. This year the entries were out of this world– in fact there’s some real mushy magic in an ‘Alice in Wonderland’ entry. The big winner was the Pixar inspired ‘EEP!’ modeled after the movie UP. A peaceful, non-heat packin’ “Peepocalypse 2010” was also impressive… along with the White House ‘Party Peepers’ featuring marshmellow Salahis stuck beside President Barak Obunnypeep.
