Angie Goff’s LIVE interview with White House Executive Pastry Chef Bill Yosses on the South Lawn of the White House.
I got up at 1:00 AM for one of the funnest assignments I’ve ever had. Covering the White House Easter Egg Roll. I thought wedges would be great for the lawn affair but soon realized the open-toewas no match for the early morning dew! Probably more uncomfortable than me were the dozens of characters in mascot uniforms… OMG proudly scored the first on-cam interview with the Roll’s power couple: Mr & Mrs Bunny.
See my wusa9 report below that includes the First Family, Glee’s performance, my basketball skills and interview with Elmo!
Ready, Set, GO! I am so excited about reporting live from the White House Easter Monday morning. Forget I have to be in at 2AM… we got an Easter Bunny and 14,500 hardboiled eggs waiting! Be sure to watch WUSA9 (CBS) between 5-7AM ET for my live reports on the Easter Egg Roll from the South Lawn. From entertainers to being environmentally friendly looks like the Obamas have this thing covered. Star studded cast expected to join the 30,000 lucky ducks that scored tickets… Reese Witherspoon, the cast of GLEE and Sesame Street, JK Rowling, Apolo Ohno, Billie Jean King and Gigi Fernandez and many more.
History: White House Easter Egg Roll
This year’s souvenir egg (everyone rolling will get one!) is signed by the Obamas and is made with vegetable oil based ink and wood from a sustainable forest. So eco-chic, pardon the pun.

WASHINGTON, DC (WUSA)– Oh My GOFF! Watch Angie’s report on Shakira in DC for charity. Plus more on viewers meeting Idol star Taylor Hicks, fans mad at Whitney Houston and the cast from ‘GLEE’ to perform at the White House.
You’re Easter Egg Roll roving reporter here. Just got word from the White House that it’s having an Easter Egg Roll Poster Contest for local schoolchildren. Michelle Obama will choose the winner which serve as the official 2010 White House Easter Egg Roll poster! The White House invites all District of Columbia, Maryland, and Virginia charter, magnet, and traditional public schools to submit one poster design per school by next Wednesday, March 3, 2010. I can’t wait to report LIVE from this event April 5th and will keep my eyes out for the winner.
The First Lady’s Top Pick Gets:
History lesson for you: In the early 1800s, local children rolled eggs on the Capitol Steps the day after Easter. In 1878, President Rutherford B. Hayes invited D.C. area children to roll their Easter eggs on the White House lawn and a tradition was born, growing into the national event that it is today.
The poster should reflect this year’s theme “Ready, Set, Go!”. For more information about the poster contest entry process or www.whitehouse.gov/eastereggroll/poster
