Good places to pick a pumpkin

cf familyFall is filled with invigorating things! Scarves, crunchy leaves, pumpkin spice, apple cider the list is endless  when it comes to things we love about now. We recently went to Cox Farms in Centreville VA to check out it’s new Enchanted Forest and pick some pumpkins. Here’s list of other great places to check out depending where you live.

Cox Farms Centreville VA

Great Country Farms Bluemont VA

Butler’s Orchard Germantown MD

Waters Orchard Germantown MD

Marker Miller Orchards Winchester VA

If you go to Cox Farms be sure to try the slides (as an adult too!), the apple cider, take the hayride and check out the new Enchanted Forest. You can walk the trail at night too which will make it extra spooky. We loved the sleeping dragon along the way and the upside house. Oh, don’t forget to stop by the Market Place for your pumpkin too!

Easy Pumpkin Decorating!

We carved our first pumpkin for the season and it was simple! Adora is 5 so poking the pattern in the pumpkin was a perfect task for her. Digging out the guts took a little nudging but she did it. Bob even got an arm in that too but honestly spent most of his time trying to pick up the other pumpkins all around us.  For those who don’t wanna cut in and get messy I found some fun ways to decorate smaller pumpkins like mummies, witches and owls for $5. (see below)

Fall Housewarming

Congrats to my friend Kristina on her new beautiful home! We stopped by to toast the new digs in Arlington and she was truly the hostess with the mostest. She had a great spread and I just adored the mini pumpkin spice cakes with vanilla glaze. She added twix bars as stems! How cute. Fall.. such a fun time for a party!

YUM!!!

The backyard is huge… perfect for entertaining (and letting wild kids run free)

There was a mild case of pumpkin chunkin’ before entering.

In love with Fall

This week we could feel it. The start of Fall is here. The weather is way cooler in the mornings, football fever is on and the kiddos are back in school. Before we know it… it will be gone. I find Fall is always a fast season. It’s definitely one of my favorites which is why on these first few days I figured I would waste no time capturing what I could. Everyday I find a reason to get out. Today I decided to take Adora to the old railroad car in downtown Herndon. It was awesome. Just us… some seasonal candy and an old choo choo! By the way I got the vintage suspender skirt by Papoose Clothing on Etsy and the candy corn is from the Target $1 bin!
