Fashion for Paws 2013

Nearly $700,000 was raised at a night filled with furry friends dressed to the nines! It was Fashion for Paws 2013, an show stopping production that included many familiar faces of DC and their pooches. I had a great time walking the runway with little Inko. I would’ve brought Atticus again but these days he’s so strong and being me so pregnant I was afraid I’d have a tough time wrangling him on stage.
I was thrilled to be part of the Lilly Pulitzer part of the show. The evening featured fashions from shops you’d find at Tysons Galleria. E! News’ Ashlan Gorse and Pamela Sorensen did an outstanding job as the night’s emcee and Mistress of Ceremonies. Special thanks to Richard and his friends for coming out to show the support! We were really tired for the show this morning.. but the great cause was worth the no sleep! Photos by Rich Kessler Photography and Travis Vaughn

Top fundraising models Susan Ostrowski, Melinda Griffith and Dr. Ashley Gallagher. Susan Ostrowski raised $37,000, followed by Melinda Griffith at $24,000 and Dr. Ashley Gallagher at $17,900.

Cupcakes for Paws

From cupcakes to Capitol Hill, everyone is buzzing about the Fashion for Paws 7th Annual Runway on April 13, 2013 at the National Building Museum to benefit the Washington Humane Society (WHS).

This year’s event will honor Congressmen Jim Moran (D-Virginia) and John Campbell (R-California) with the 2013 Humane Hero Award, which recognizes individuals in media, politics and entertainment who have displayed a passion for animal welfare. Washingtonians can follow their example by picking up Fashion-for-Paws-inspired “pupcakes” at any DC-area Georgetown Cupcake location through April 13. 100% of proceeds will benefit WHS.

For the Dogs!

It’s that time of year again. Fashion for Paws is right around the corner. It’s one of the best events in the area in my opinion. I’ve loved being a part of it in the past.. .walking with Atticus for a great cause. Well this year charity models are challenged to raise $5,000 to walk the runway. Dr. Alex Naini held a mini auction at her office and it was great to see so many come out and support her and little Kingston. All money raised goes to the Washington Humane Society. They do such an amazing job with rescuing and helping animals in  need in the area. Some pictures by Kipp Burgoynek

American singer, actress and family personality Marie Osmond adopted a puppy last night at the 6th Annual Fashion For Paws Runway Show to benefit the Washington Humane Society (WHS) at the National Building Museum in Washington, DC. The star named her new pup George, after her late father George Osmond who passed away in 2007. Notable guests such as E! News Personality and event host Ashlan Gorse and her boyfriend and friend of ours CNN correspondent and environmental advocate Phillipe Cousteau. Redskin Tim Hightower also walked the catwalk. The sell out c rowd was wowed by the breathtaking event decor, with walk-ways bedecked in flowers and accents of pink throughout the VIP runway tables, glowing with light by Digital Lighting. Dinner and hors d’oeuvres were served by Design Cuisine, all atop grand centerpiece tables with flowing bottles of Moet & Chandon Imperial.

Since the event’s February 6th fundraising launch, F4P models, sponsors and committee members raised over $700,000 for the cause, exceeding the organization’s 2012 goal of $625,000. Photos by Moshe Zusman and Rich Kessler.
