We are less than 1 month away from the St. Jude Heart of Fashion (HOF)!

Saturday, September 12 || 11:30AM – 2:00PM

Neiman Marcus Mazza Gallerie

Join me and a fabulous crowd of attendees as we unite together for a day of fashion and philanthropy to benefit St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

St. Jude leads the way the world understands, treats and defeats childhood cancer and other life-threatening diseases.  Located in Memphis, Tennessee, the center is at the cutting-edge of the latest medicine and research in life-threatening pediatric diseases, such as cancer, all while freeing families from the biggest burden in getting life-saving healthcare: the cost.

Events like the HOF are so important to the continued success of St. Jude because the center receives the majority of it’s funding from generous donors.   With a $2 million a day hof1operating cost, every dollar counts and the results are evident today as St. Jude has increased the survival rates for Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL) from 4% (in 1962) to 94%.

Summer Fashion Series Continues

It’s here… the next show in April Yvonne’s Signature Style Series, partnered with the Capella Georgetown, D.C., featuring Calypso St. Barth will occur on May 14th from 12pm – 2pm on the Rooftop Lounge of the hotel.

MORE: Get Tickets

On the heels of a sold-out show in March with Elie Tahari, April has brought in one of her favorite luxury resort wear brands right in time for the warmer weather! “Calypso St. Barth is a must-go for me personally and for my clients because they have perfect pieces to pack for warm weather getaways and I always find beautifully unique items,” said April.

So what is it you ask? Well, it all started when April wanted to bring a portion of what she experiences during Fashion Week in New York here to DC, so she created the Style Series, where by partnering with designers and luxury brands, April conducts sold-out fashion events allowing her following to experience first-hand her inherent passion and devotion to fashion. In addition to being one of DC’s top fashion stylists, April is also the Resident Stylist at the Capella DC, so this partnership was a match made in heaven for her series.

The Calypso St. Barth show will take place on the exclusive Rooftop of the Capella DC, which offers stunning views of our beautiful city…the perfect backdrop for the informal presentation April will conduct showcasing some of her favorite looks from Calypso St. Barth’s latest collection as guests enjoy a delicious lunch and cocktail from the hotel’s restaurant, The Grill Room.

Following, guests will be able to shop on-site all the looks April presents during the show and receive on-hand fashion advice from April and representatives from Calypso St. Barth.

Plus, each ticket purchase qualifies you in for a chance to win some AMAZING raffle prizes, like: a Calypso St. Barth dress, valued at $495; a Beauty Class for you and 5 friends at Blue Mercury Georgetown; brunch for two at The Grill Room; or a 1-hour personal shopping trip with April Yvonne.

Finally, a portion of the ticket proceeds will benefit a charity that is very near and dear to April – St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, whose mission is to find a cure for children with cancer and other life-threatening diseases through research and treatment and where no family every pays St. Jude for anything.

Here’s a peek at some of the looks you will see and shop at the show:

Tickled Pink 2013

With three weeks left before I’m scheduled to pop I was a little nervous about jumping on stage for a fashion show. However, I knew it would be a forgiving crowd because the Tickled Pink Mother-Daughter Tea is all about being a momma! The Lilly Pulitzer fashion show is one of my favorite events. It benefits Children’s Hospital and always draws the best crowd. For the third year in a row we walked the catwalk. Adora even waved to the crowd and did a twirl at the end of the runway! Thank you to everyone who came out to support! Photos by imijphoto.com and Kipp Burgoyne

Inaugural Ball Fashion

Very excited about our upcoming story with stylist April Yvonne. With the help of SAKS at Tysons Galleria April presented us some of the ways to make a statement at one of the most historic nights of the year: Inauguration. We had a beautiful shoot at the historic Ritz-Carlton Georgetown.
SNEAK PEAK: April’s Inaugural Fashion Shoot
Many of you will be attending Inaugural Balls and I know there are plenty of you gals (and guys) who are still debating what to wear. April shows us what’s on trend, the colors to consider and even takes a guess at what the First Lady will wear. Tune in for our story on our Saturday morning show at 9am!

Good “Gossip”: All Access Fashion

Gossip Girls’ stylist Eric Daman did an amazing job styling All Access Fashion 2012. Held at Tysons Galleria…. the runway show featured hot looks for Fall from Intermix. Burgundy was a recurring theme… along with detailed leather pants. My fave: Red leather pants and aztec print wrap jackets that had a cape like effect.

Even Adora got in on the action!

Well I’m honored to have been invited to be a member of the Vogue 120. It’s a group of 120 women in media, business, philanthropy and politics from the Nation’s biggest cities. Renting baby clothes

Let’s be real. Buying expensive baby clothes is just ludicrous. At the rapid rate they grow, the stuff they spit all over it… when it comes down to it.. .it’s just not worth it. That’s why when I heard about Borrow Baby Couture I was sold. It’s basically rent the runway for baby. Those high end designers you don’t even buy yourself… you can now get for little her or him for a fraction of the cost. I ordered Adora a Moschino dress for her dad’s birthday weekend.  Baby couture is so cute especially when you don’t pay full price. Right now BBC carries only clothes for girls but it will soon be introducing little boy stuff too.  By the way BBC provides the packaging and postage to mail it all back.

It came int he cutest box with a tag marked with return date

The funky duck in the bandana gave it a little edge 🙂

Back was super cute too!

Loudoun Chamber on the Catwalk
