My good friend and sorority sister Jennifer who was diagnosed with breast cancer at age 26 continues her journey to end breast cancer. If you’re in the Virginia area this weekend think about supporting one of the bravest, beautiful gals I know. It will definitely be a fun crowd.

Brides Against Breast Cancer Gown Sale in DC

Making Memories Foundation launched a nation-wide charity ‘Brides Against Breast Cancer‘ and made a pitstop over the weekend in Dupont Circle. Brides-to-be clamored around the expo in search of their dream gown while granting memories and wishes for metastatic breast cancer patients.

Union Station goes RED

The recent tornado in Missouri left Joplin devastated, but its residents and Washingtonians are banding together for Red4Joplin.

On June 13th at 6PM, DC locals and Joplin natives Kiki L’Italien and Kylee Coffman are partnering with Events for Good in hosting ‘Show Me’ Support for Joplin: A Red Tie Affair.

The night starts with a chef ‘show-down’ of Joplin’s favorite spaghetti and later includes music, raffle prizes and tornado surviver testimonials.

Mamie’s Mile raises $10,000 for Children’s

Friends, family and Washington media stepped out for Mamie’s Mile and helped raise $10,000 for charity!  The 1 mile charity walk is hosted by former CNN reporter and loving mother Elizabeth Manresa and husband Teddy Eynon. The couple lost one of two twins, Mamie Grace (4 months old) due to complications from heart surgery and started the walk to benefit Children’s National Medical Center. More at wusa9

April 1st the National Press Club, find media moguls like Washington Post’s John Kelly and Politico’s Meredith Shiner go head-to-head to be honored ‘DC’s Funniest Journalist’. Doors open at 7pm for a VIP only preshow or cocktail hour with speciality beer from sponor Flying Dog Brewery. The real laughs start at 8 with hosts Washington Post cartoonist Nick Galifianakis and PBS’s Miles O’Brien.

All proceeds from the stand-up competition go to Reporters Without Borders, The Committee to Protect Journalists fund and The Eric Friedheim National Journalism Library.

The Capital Breast Care Center hosted ‘Beauty for Life’ at Georgetown SKIN on Wisconsin Avenue.

The evening filled with pink cocktails and free beauty giveaways benefited the center that screens poor women in the area for breast cancer for free. Coming up join me on October 7th.. for the CBCC & Michelle Cross Fenty’s Gift of Life Breakfast Benefit at the Grand Hyatt.
