Mom Pick of the Week: Olive to Sew

This week I’m loving my monogrammed onesie from OlivetoSew.com. The founder who possesses the sassy needle skills is Kere Knapp, a mom of two who lives in South Riding. This is one of many things Adora has bearing her initials. She also has a basket, two piece outfit and a blanky!

Adora visits WUSA TV

The future newsie in her onesie made the rounds at WUSA this morning! It’s the first time my colleagues have Adora in person. She is so spoiled. She’s already won the hearts of her TV dads Mike and Howie B. Check out the cool gifts they got her!  Also notice, Adora made Mikes’s daily newsroom webcast… despite her expression she was really happy to be there.

Click on this Facebook Post to see the video of Adora’s visit:

Mike got Adora a personalized piggy bank from My Bambino. And who knew Howard was so in touch with girly style? Thank you for this adorable outfit and burp cloth homemade by Embee Designz!

Birthday Invitation Etiquette

And what do you think about this? It was in the birthday party invitation for a 3 year old my sister just got. Show of hands who think Emily Post is turning in her grave.

Make Room for… Bassinet

This was a gift from my parents. A non-traditional round bassinet… off-white with a delicate green french toile print. It matches my antique bedroom furniture perfectly. I just adore the little curtain on top.

Pick of the Day: Best Frame Ever

What a sweet surprise. Suzie from Sales gave me this cute picture holder. It was the perfect pick-me-up I needed after a rough morning! It’s the little things friends do that bring so much love.

My first baby gift- from Dr. Oz!

Dr. Oz was one of the first people to find out I was preggers.

When he got back to New York he sent me his new book YOU: Having a Baby with a personalized little congrats inside!

I’ve been reading it for the last couple months and recommend it for any future mom. His fun illustrations are so hilarious and he debunks many pregnancy myths- yes ladies you can dye your hair! Thanks Dr. O!

Birthday with Solid Friends & LiquidA

Thanks to sister-for-life Kristina Dorville who took it back old school to Arlington to celebrate my life. How old you ask? According to the picture on the right..I’d say about 5. (And while we’re on this picture why not add: cheeky Carissa is a supermodel- had to steal that one from Lauren P)

It’s a great example of a carefree night had by all at the Clarendon Grill in Arlington. Apparently, there was another girl named Katie celebrating her birthday too but my good friends made it clear to the band there was truly only ONE party in the house! All you had to do was look for the front row of friends who created the first ever ‘hit line’. Yep excessive ‘fist pumping’ was in the air and our energetic ring leader was none other than good friend Katherine Kennedy. If our performance didn’t win you over chances are we had you at “Want a mini red velvet cupcake from Bakeshop?”  Justin the owner of the new Arlington joint was so sweet to send dozens of the birthday bites our way.  [Pictured above: Carissa, Jesse, Dr. Alex, Angie & Lauren P. Don’t forget the liquid that kept us rockin’… LiquidA that is!

PS: Dear friends, I love you. xxAngie

How do you like them cupcakes

Green bagels, cupcakes, the circus is in town.. what more could a girls ask for on her birthday. I admit it. It’s the best day to be born. For the rest of your life you know that no matter what there’s gonna be a party. Thank you so much for all of your bday wishes on my twitter and facebook page. I have such great friends and viewers. My traffic bud Kris even made me cupcakes and the newsroom gave me a big card. Birthday shout outs  for fellow green babies PR maven Jill Collins, Politico’s Tim Burger and OMG loyal reader and childhood bud Isabel Chacon Martinez!

SAVE YOUR WET CELL THIS ST. PATRICK’S
Whether you’re trying to survive another year or the biggest drinking day on the calendar I hope it’s a good one.  My gift to you: Tips courtesy of the Geek Squad on saving your wet cell phone after it falls into a mug of green stuff! C’mon.. we’ve all been there.
1) Turn off phone and remove battery
2) Dry the phone (inside & out) with clean cloth
3) Check if you have beef jerky or uncooked rice
4) If Beef Jerky take the silica packet and put it in an airtight container with the phone and leave it overnight. If rice, pour the rice inside the airtight container and put your phone in the rice and leave overnight.
5) Replace battery and turn it on!
