DC’s District nightclub was packed to capacity for DJ Neekola’s highly anticipated album release party for ‘Playtime,’ her debut album. Fashion and music joined forces as models posed in the crowd wearing haute couture fashion by Cantoire and stunning shoes by Jezabelles – with DJ Neekola herself rocking 2 dresses and shoes from the collections. The star-studded event featured an opening set by J-Punch, special themed drinks by Ciroc, and an amazing ‘Playtime‘ performance by Neekola to close out the night. The party was sponsored by the GWFCC with fashions produced by Maggy Francois.

Gucci in DC: US Air loses $50,000 worth of luggage

The heir to the GUCCI dynasty was in DC during his first visit to the US. 83 year old Giorgio Gucci spoke on Capitol Hill on the issue of the black market. He urged leaders to pass stronger counterfeit laws and follow through with enforcement. An unfortunate fashion note… Gucci addressed the crowd in an emergency buy… an untailored, slightly too big Jos. A Bank suit. The designer scrambled to find something to wear after US Airways lost $50,000 worth of his luggage! Gucci himself did not seem rattled. I was impressed with his graciousness.

Highlights from the forum included an outstanding performance by opera sensation Cristina Fontinelli who sang the National Anthem. Rep. Diane E. Watson was honored as well for her push to protect designers and fashion commerce. I was honored to emcee the talk that included great insight from expert panelists Jean Bonilla, Caroyl Miller and Steve Hilson. The Greater Washington Chamber of Commerce and Emperor Brands hosted the forum.

Check out my interview with him about what he thought about his first visit to the Nation’s Capitol.  I’ll be airing more video on the WUSA9 Morning Show Friday. Tune in.

Oh Snap! DC Goes 60's Glam

When you put Twiggy, Lena Horne and Jackie O together it’s like a fashion atomic bomb. There’s so much style it may be hard to contain but DC based high-end designer Tashia Senn manages to keep the collaboration in control with her latest Fall/Winter 2010 collection.

Classy, sassy and even sexy ran rampant at her show held at the Ted Gibson Salon in Chevy Chase. Senn tells OMG “”I know it’s an unusual combination but this was a turning era in fashion and I incorporated these three women unique styles in my current collection.”

What to look for this Fall: an ensemble of high-end evening gown, flirty cocktail dresses, and party-ready jumpers made with Chantilly Lace, Silk Crepe de Sheen, Silk Charmeuse, Silk Chiffon, Silk Duchess Satin, and Wool Cashmere! To see the entire collection by the GWFCC designer visit

Watch OMG coverage of Tashia’s show on WUSA9 (CBS) Tuesday at 5:54AM.
