House Beautiful Party Goes Green

House Beautiful magazine’s new Spring Color issue is crazy about green! Washingtonians celebrated the latest issue dedicated to the lucky hue at trendy Room & Board on 14th Street, NW. From Kiwi to Kelly… if it’s green the latest issue has got it covered. House Beautiful created a lot of buzz after dropping 19 green chairs in random places in the city… you had to follow their twitter feed for clues to find them. This quickly became a trending topic in the area! Seen enjoying the green scene: Washingtonian’s new fashion editor Kate Bennett, Interior Designer Megan Blake, ABC7’s Natasha Barrett and the Corcoran’s Rachel Cothran. Photos by Yulia Mikhalchuk

Cool mommas hop the Rockin’ Railroad

Choo Choo! The train of fun was a chuggin’ at Kidville’s Rockin’ Railroad Family Day held in Bethesda. It was so wonderful to see other moms, dads and their kiddos of all ages come out. We got to run around in the playroom, enjoy cupcakes and watch and dance through a session of Kidville’s new Rockin’ Railroad class. I was clearly the head of the class… up front and center the whole time. Some photos by Danielle Sara Photography

“Sex and the City” Creator Rooftop Party

The mind behind the Manolos– Candace Bushnell was in town talking Carrie before we knew her. Bushnell, an author and NYC columnist who inspired the famed SATC series and movies is taking us back, way back. Her new book Summer and the City (The Carrie Diaries) is the prequel to SATC introducing us to the lives of the fab four when they were friends in high school.

Bushnell who I found to be both fun and spunky did a rooftop book signing for an invitation only party atop the Residences on The Avenue. Notable guests included NBC4’s Eun Yang, Pamela Sorensen, Meredith Fineman, Cupcake stars Sophie Lamontagne and Katherine Kallinis, ABC7’s Pamela Brown and Capitol File’s Kate Bennett.

Yesterday renowned sea food restaurant Tackle Box opened its second location in the DC area. The newest location is in Cleveland Park adjacent to the Uptown Theater.

The Grand Opening welcomed my morning colleague Andrea Roane and John Scriffen from NBC 4. Capitol File Magazine’s Editor-in-Chief Kate Bennett was also there with her family.

The interior design was inspired and created by Umbel himself. The menu has been expanded and is headlined by the New England Lobster Pot which you can take pleasure in customizing yourself.  Bon Appetite!

Robert Redford is still a hunk! It was great to see him premiere his new film he directed ‘The Conspirator’ here at the historic Ford’s Theatre.  The film that centers around the men and one woman arrested for the conspiracy surrounding President Lincoln’s murder stars Robin Wright Penn as Mary Surratt.
