Lilly Pulitzer Mother-Daughter Tea & Fashion Show

It’s one of my favorite events of the year… the Tickled Pink Mother-Daughter Tea and Fashion Show at the Fairmont. It benefits the Make a Wish. The Pink Palm helps us pick out all our Lilly Pulitzer. It’s definitely the ultimate gathering for the girls and the kids love it. Adora actually walked this year and had a hilarious debut. When people started calpping for her.. she joined them in clapping for herself. When she saw dad in the crowd she started yelling and with arms wide open tried to run off the stage to him– precious! White Elephant Brunch

Soup recipe books, gingerbread houses and even booty pop the bad gifts us girls received for the holidays were a hit at a little White Elephant Sunday brunch gathering. Katherine Kennedy was kind to host the post-festive affair complete with bacon wrapped egg tarts and french toast muffins. It was a perfect way to de-stress from the razzle dazzle of the holidays. Oh.. what about the gift I got? I actually lucked out and scored a really awesome candle!

Cauc-tails at Elisir

Washington media mixed it up at the new Itailian restaurant and bar Elisir right on 11th Street in the Penn Quarter. In the spirit of 2012 and a photo finish in Iowa we had fun with our own straw poll.. choosing the best cocktails all of which were paired with a candidate. Much like the recent caucuses the top dog status went to Romney– or the cocktail named “The bain of My Existence.” No Santorum in second place here… that award went to Ron Paul’s “IchBin Anyn non-inerventionist.” Familiar faces included Nikki Schwab, Kate Michael, Tommy McFly, Judy Kurtz and food writer Jordan Wright. Special thanks to kind hosts Chef Enzo Fargione and Janet Donovan. The food was delicious too and authentic! Photo credit: Neshan Naltchayan and KStreetKate.
