Big Toast in Town: Moet Winemaker Tour

Major toasting was going on in the city at the 2012 Moet Hennessy Winemaker Tour. Hosted at The Occidental… notable mixologists and sommeliers attended the event along with some familiar faces from the media and philanthropy front. We saw Katherine Kennedy, Cynne Simpson, Jummy Olabanji and Tommy Mcfly. Up for tasting… fine spirits from New Zealand’s Cloudy Bay Te Koko, France’s Chateau de Sancerre’s Cuvee du Connetable, Napa Valley’s Chandon Etoile Brut and Spain’s Numanthia Termanthia. White Elephant Brunch

Soup recipe books, gingerbread houses and even booty pop the bad gifts us girls received for the holidays were a hit at a little White Elephant Sunday brunch gathering. Katherine Kennedy was kind to host the post-festive affair complete with bacon wrapped egg tarts and french toast muffins. It was a perfect way to de-stress from the razzle dazzle of the holidays. Oh.. what about the gift I got? I actually lucked out and scored a really awesome candle!

D.C. tastemakers attended the VIP opening of The Cajun Experience restaurant! It’s the newest addition to the Dupont dining scene.

A week before Fat Tuesday the celebration couldn’t be more timely. We caught up with  Executive Chef Bryan Crosswhite who boasts he has no formal training in the kitchen… his food all comes from family traditions and passed down recipes.

Check out the story I shared on WUSA9′ s Morning Show.

Try The Cajun Experience for yourself at 1825 18th Street NW! Live music on Friday and Saturday Nights with patio seating in the Spring.

Blonde's Big Win, Break 5 Year Losing Streak

Click to see BVB TV shout out on WUSA9

I admit it.  It took a couple days to accept it.

The BLONDES win big… the BRUNETTES gave it their best. Fellow Bru Carissa Maguire was not bitter after the heartbreaking loss saying it was a ‘great game in overtime.’ In the end the Blondes prevailed beating Team Brunette in O-T 26-20.  The MVP goes to…. all of the wonderful ladies regardless if they sport the pink or blue. Together they raised more than $100,000 for the Alzheimer’s Association.  It’s the kind of touchdowns… that touch lives.  Way to go Blondes vs Brunettes 2010.

Fashion 4 Paws exhibit kicks off FotoWeekDC!

Previous Fashion 4 Paws Runway Shows return…and this time in photos! More than a dozen of the photographers from the past year’s shows featured their photos at a special exhibit in L2 Lounge of Georgetown. The event launched November FotoWeekDC

The blown-up photos were available for purchase as well as F4P Runway Show Super Model Calenders. Guests voted on their top three favorite photos – models featured in the photos received a $100 gift card from the Gilt Groupe. And it wouldn’t be F4P without some furry friends; adoptable dogs from the Washington Humane Society also joined the party.
