Like the rose in the summertime a simple email invite to brunch blossomed into a beautiful thing: An AOII reunion. It’s been (cough cough) years since I graduated from George Mason and said farewell to some of my best friends from some of the best years of my life.
How nice it was to see the baby pandas (now with real babies of their own-or on the way) again. What better way to re-light the loyal spark than atWILDFIRE.
The gathering atTysons Galleriarestaurant was perfect for us A-O-Piggies. On the ClubBrunch menu… eggs benedict, baked maple french toast, applewood smoked bacon, potatoes and fresh fruit! Executive Chef and frequent9NEWS guest Steven Lukis got ’major snaps’ from the sisters. Shout out to my dad (a former IIOA- our sorority’s sweetheart) for playing photographer for all of us again!

Miss VA Caressa Cameron is now Miss America 2010. Way to go girl! Hats off to our pal Jen Corey for making the top 12 and performing brilliantly during the talent competition. You shined!
[Picture: I first met Caressa this Fall at USO Casino Night at the Sheraton in Arlington... for veterans staying at Walter Reed. Very gracious gal and we know she will make America proud! Also pictured Kelly Olson and former TV "Bachelor" Andy Baldwin]
Miss California Kristy Cavinderwas 1st runner up. I was a huge fan of our friend Jen from DCof course but also took a liking to Miss Hawaiiwho had a down to Earth, tomboy like attitude. Miss Arkansaswas great too and really embodied that old glam Miss America look. Miss Puerto Ricowas just flat out striking. Read more fromThe Examiner
We’ll work on getting Caressa in for a studio interview at Channel 9.
Maybe she’ll let me try on that crown… but we know how that turned out last time I had a chance. See below.
