Fish juice in the face!

And I have to admit as gross as it was.. I loved it! It was great getting a laugh out of the whole family as we pulled our cane pole over the bridge to see our winning catch.. only to have it hit me in the face.

We woke up early this past weekend for a little fishing trip at Lake Fairfax. The sun was bright and the fish were biting. Adora caught her first fish too with the help of Papa. These are the times I can’t wait to look back on. It also makes me think back to when I was small. I remember going fishing as a child and being totally grossed out by the worms. I still am.

Lake Fairfax is a cool place. At noon on weekends you can take the flat boat out to tour the lake or take the kids for a ride on the old fashion carousel. There is also a water park next door– but get there before they open the line gets out of control!

Korean's worst nightmare

Koreans are scrambling after KIMCHI prices soar.  The kimchi crunch comes after a long, wet summer of monsoon and typhoons. The bad weather has caused a spike in cabbage prices. A Chinese cabbage – the type needed for kimchi – can now cost you an astonishing $10, up from about $2 last month.  See below where I take the KIMCHI Challenge at my favorite local Korean restaurant IL MEE BUFFET in Annandale. I could live off this stuff!

DC Needs A Korean Taco Truck

If I lost my job today I think a twittering food truck would be in my near future. Have you heard about the KOGI Korean BBQ taco truck out in L.A…. it tweets it’s stops for the day, drawing 300-800 people everytime it parks, in different spots throughout the night. I first heard about this from my agent who lives out there … then I saw it in the LA Times. But it wasn’t til CHIN told me about this craze that’s hit Korean headlines that I decided to take a second look. I decided to follow the “Kogi Kulture”  @kogibbq on Twitter. I discovered they are real Korean tacos…  bulgogi,Kimchi Taco kal-bi (korean short ribs), spicy pork and even KIMCHI  wrapped in tortillas!

I told Chin she should get off  that electric-blanket covered couch she sits on 8 hours a day watching Korean  soaps and put her kitchen skills on wheels. I can see it now:

With a bright personality like this… I can ony imagine the hoards of late night revelers that would show up.
