Capitol CAREaoke: CNN, FNC, WUSA Sing Hearts Out

Topp-I-Am also better known as WUSA’s weatherman Topper Shutt helped our newsteam to victory at the 30th Anniversary of ChildHelp’s Capitol CAREaoke. Held at the Ronald Reagan building the event raised thousands to end child abuse… thanks to some very brave media personalities. Check out this awesome video shot by WUSA contributor Leigh Macdonald. It includes Teddy Eynon who had the courage to share his heartbreaking story of surviving abuse as a child.

Society 2.0: Tracking DC's Top Social Status

There’s probably a lot of stuff out there you’d be surprised to find out about the so called movers ‘n’ shakers in this city. That’s why I’m tracking it online and bringing you the ‘best of’ every week in my new Washington Life online column Society 2.0!

It’s called the Social Status Report and today I pluck pix and bits from the twitter pages of Luke Russert, Leslie Sanchez at CNN, socialite Susanna Quinn and MTV International’s Blonde Charity Mafia’s Sophie Pyle.

Correspondents Dinner & BBC Afterparty Pictures

Loyal viewers may have noticed OMG was not on TV this morning and for good reason. We joined Vice President Joe Biden and the creme de creme of journalism at the 66th Annual Radio & TV Correspondents Dinner. Biden performed well in my opinion wrapping up with a hilarious slideshow demonstrating what it’s like to always be #2. The crowd roared with laughter when the infamous picture of the Veep flanked by Michaele & Tareq Salahi popped up. After laughing our brains out at comedian Joe Wong and downing some darn good lobster ravioli it we headed to the BBC World News America Afterparty at the National Museum.

Oh Snap! Capitol File Mag Holiday Party

Magazine power publiser Jason Binn’s invite list was small but the party gets packed when everyone shows up. The intimate holiday affair held at The Mayflower Hotel (no Spitzer sightings) was also a homecoming for Capitol File’s current cover star, Hilary Rhoda. The supermodel is a native of Chevy Chase.
