Jennifer Griffin and Eun Yang

The final tally is in and we raised more than $18,000 for the GW Mammovan at this year’s bash! Thank you all who donated, supported and helped grow this event to it’s biggest year yet.

A group of us hosts gathered at Bourbon Steak for some good grub (duck fat fries and truffle rolls!) so that we could recap the night and look ahead to things we can do in the future. We’d love your suggestions always too!

Geek 2 Chic: Nerds turned trendsetters

With NBC News Photographer Jim Long aka @newmediaJim

Mission Accomplished (and in style!) Our area’s biggest Geeks transformed into real trendsetters at Geek 2 Chic 2011. Held at the newly renovated Bloomingdale’s in Chevy Chase the guys really worked the catwalk busting out everything from the moonwalk to the… splits! PLEASE if you have video of this let me know!

Special shout out to NFTE, the group benefiting from the night. The group has helped thousands of youth from low-income neighborhoods become successful in the world of business. Microsoft and Bloomingdale’s presented the event and The Aba Agency directed the show.  Mark Drapeau of Microsoft did an excellent job serving as Executive Director. We’re looking forward to the grand opening of the new Microsoft Store at Tysons Corner later this month too! (Most photos by Revamp)

Taste of Success… Achieves

Shepherd’s pie, lobster rolls, brownies drenched in chocolate sauce. There was not a bad table to be at during the celebration of StreetWise Partner’s Taste of Success.  Held at the historic Carnegie Institution of Science hundreds of young professionals gathered to enjoy a little taste from everywhere across the District. The highlight of the night was when a beneficiary of the event shared his story. StreetWise Partners helps the poor gain skills to get into the work force.

WHCD Weekend: Rented the dresses and all!

Michelle Obama donned a long Halston dress at the White House Correspondents Dinner the same designer I chose to wear too! Hers was probably a gazillion dollars where mine cost only$75bucks. HOW you ask? I RENTED it.

Yep-   It’s my new favorite thing. Renting dresses and jewelry from Rent-the-Runway.com. There’s designers fit for the First Lady you can rent for a fraction of the cost. I mean- some are only $25!  Not only did I rent the Jet Black Halston for the party night.. I got a Lela Rose dress for brunch the next day.

This is how it works. You choose the 4 day span to rent your dress for time to get it, wear it and mail it back. They give you all you need. Oh and here’s a perk- you can choose a second size for free! The Halston halter was $455 but I rented it for $75. I also rented the this $545 Dannijo cuff.. for $45.

Busy baby GAGA

Adora is such a trooper. She made the rounds with a day that started with an early brunch with my AOII sisters at Clyde’s in Ashburn. The place was really neat. My friend Jen told me the entire restaurant was made out of old barnes. Then it was off to DC to The Heights for an afternoon brunch with some of my former TV co-workers. That’s where we ran into WUSA producer Jessica Glasser who just had a baby too.. little Maya! We weren’t done yet. When I arrived for my hair appointment with the fabulous James Cornwell.. he exclaimed “OMG it’s baby Gaga” – referring to my baby tucked inside her stroller. It was hilarious.

Together again!

Fit for a legacy!

Then we were off to DC to meet up with some former co-workers from news stations elsewhere!
