DC Bartender Wins Nat'l Model Search (ps- he's single!)

Take one look at his picture… and do you even ask why?

Congrats to DC’s Yonas Kutlu who won the Macveneers Model search for 2010 this fall.¬† He used to complain of little teeth and didn’t smile with his mouth open.¬† When he walked into Aesthetic Dental Spa, he didn’t even know that there was something Dr. Alex could do for him.¬† Two visits later, he had a smile makeover with 10 Veneers.Depending on Macveneers’ ad campaign this year, you may see him in Vogue and In Style Magazines!

PICTURES: Yonas’ teeth before smile makeover

BUT you’ve probably seen him around town already. Yonas¬†(who’s single!) is currently a bartender at The Park at¬†14th and has even been on the cover of¬† On Tap magazine as best bartender.

Tickled Pink in Potomac

I cannot even begin to tell you how overwhelmed with emotion I am with all the support I’ve gotten from friends, family and co-workers over the last 8 months. My sisters Jenny and Tricia threw me a beautiful shower at good friend Dr. Alex’s Potomac home.

It was more than perfect– it was as I told the crowd– a room filled with so much love. Wish I could post the hundreds of pictures and special moments¬†captured by¬†REVAMP.com’s¬†Daniel Swartz¬†and Rita Lawrence¬†with¬†Bitsy Baby Photography. Please check out their galleries. Sweet thanks to Frosting: A Cupcakery for sending devilishly good dessert. No cupcake was left behind. Shout out to¬†the gorgeous Lauren Von Der Pool and staff with green catering company¬†Von Der Pool Gourmet. ¬†I didn’t learn til after the party that the ‘beef wontons’ were vegan! I would’ve never known. They were delicious!

The best part of all? Seeing so many women from different phases of my life- high school, college, SC, DC, News, philanthropy and¬† mamas-to-be coming together to help me celebrate my first step into motherhood. Thank you everyone from me and baby “A”. Read more about the shower at REVAMP.com where Leigh Macdonald wrote a very kind recap of the party.

A glance at some¬†gifts…

Redskins baby goes to the dentist!

Who says going to the dentist is scary!

Redskins linebacker, Lorenzo Alexander , brought in his daughter Zoie to see Dr. Alex Naini at Aesthetic Dental Spa in McLean to show parents how to care for their children’s teeth.  Teaching children good dental habits at a young age reduces the  fear of going to the dentist and creates a lifetime of a healthy smile.

Komen Gala: Laura Bush, Tory Burch, Olivia, Lynda & More

Click to Watch The Stars Break It Down on WUSA9 TV

Honoring the Promise was one of the most beautiful events I have attended in Washington. The gala/concert commemorating Ambassador Nancy Brinker’s promise to her sister to find a cure 30 years ago brought more than the stars out— it¬†gave hope.¬†Network news anchor and breast cancer survivor¬†Robin Roberts was an excellent emcee and survivor stories from Cynthia Nixon, Olivia Newton-John and Australian singing sensation Delta Goodrem touched the heart. Former First Lady Laura Bush got a standing ovation as she was honored with the Lifetime Achievement Distinction Award. Tory Burch (with¬†a magnificent necklace!) presented¬†DC’s First Lady Michelle Fenty with the Community Distinction Award for her work with the Capital Breast Care Center. The night raised $1.9 Million dollars.. the most Komen has EVER raised in one evening.¬†

Fashion For Paws Models Announced!

Alex Naini & Tara de Nicolas

Last night at Teatro Goldoni, we had an amazing kick-off for the 2010 Fashion for Paws fashion show benefitting the Washington Humane Society. More pictures to come but first I wanted to share the list of those aiming to walk the runway this year! Models must raise at least $3,000 to take to the catwalk! This year I’m a guardian model.. meaning I’ll walk but my main focus will be getting the word out and helping other models achieve their goals!

Some of you have asked if you can donate on my page. Since I don’t have a page the first model I would love for you to support is first time walker, animal lover and dentist to the Redskins, Dr. Alex Naini¬†pictured above to the left of F4P chairwoman Tara de Nicolas.

Professional models and our military men and women set the runway on fire at the 2nd Annual Fashion Takes Flight fashion show held at the Longview Gallery in Northwest DC. Special thanks to Kristen Murdoch for directing the show and for the veterans from Walter Reed who attended.

The night benefitted Luke’s Wings… paying they way to reunite families with their wounded heroes. Watch the Video Recap of the show courtesy L.I.A.M. Productions, LLC
