It’s Inauguration Day!

Tweeted photo by @anthonyquintano

The energy is electric out here in DC! If you are doing ANYTHING Inauguration related please let me or NBC4 know. I’ll be working all day on finding the best in Social Media to share on TV. This is how you can help and be part of NBC’s coverage:

· Use #InaugurationDC
· Include @NBCWashington or @ohmygoff if you can

· MUST tweet @nbcwashington or send me a video link. Don’t send actual video to email.

· Share with NBCWashington by using #dcgram in caption field

· We will have an Inauguration Pinterest board. Send GREAT pix for this via twitter. We’ll curate it and it may end up on the news. I’ll be working on Social Media reports for broadcast.

We also want to know the fun stuff lookin ahead. What you think the First Lady will wear tonight at the Inaugural Ball? We’ve got some guesses from style experts in town. Stylist April Yvonne provides us a nice analysis here. Today anything Inaugural goes! Be part of the conversation!

If you’re not gonna be down in the city.. here’s a cheat sheet on how you can watch the Inauguration events all day with NBC News!

See you on-air!

Marine to dance with First Lady

Would you want to be in this guy’s shoes?  Marine Corps Gunnery Sgt. Timothy Easterling has been chosen to represent the Marines during the Traditional First Dance at the Commander-in-Chief’s Ball. This means he will dance with First Lady Michelle Obama. I had a chance to catch up with him for his first TV interview and he admitted he’s a little nervous. Above all he’s honored to represent his branch of service as well as the people of his home state of  South Carolina (He’s a Barnwell native!). Tune in to News4 Sunday morning for more on how he found out he was chosen and what he’s been doing to practice for the big night!

Good luck Sgt. Easterling and GO GAMECOCKS! That’s right.. he’s also a Carolina fan. I say OORAH to that!

Jason Wu to Target

One of Michelle Obama’s favorite designers has a line headed to Target. Jason Wu who got rave reviews at New York Fashion Week recently is the next couture creator to team up with the retail chain. I will say I did take part in the Missoni craze… scoring a make-up bag and a baby onesie for you know who. Do you think Wu will woooo consumers the same way? What designer would you like to see be available for less?

Teaching Kids How to Eat the 'Good Stuff'

Look who’s planting good health habits in youth.. one pot at a time.

Celebrity chef Spike Mendelsohn got his hands dirty at the launch of his new endeavor Good Stuff Gardens. The partnership with Garden District and DC Greenworks teaches kids how to eat healthy and grow their own food at the KIPP Academy on Benning Road. Mendelsohn, who owns Good Stuff Eatery says it’s part of the First Lady’s Let’s Move campaign. The Nation’s chefs have been asked to adopt a school to help educate students about food and nutrition.

First Lady's Designer Gets 'All Doll'd Up'

See the full story as aired on the WUSA9 Morning Show

WASHINGTON, DC (WUSA)– Oh My GOFF! Angie Goff on Isabel Toldeo of First Lady fashion fame, named Designer of the Year.

The designer made famous by Michelle Obama was honored by Marymount University at the college’s Portfolio in Motion ‘All Doll’d Up’ show. Virtually unknown before fashion risk-taker Obama chose her to design an Inauguration Day ensemble, Isabel Toledo was named ‘Designer of the Year.’ She praised the young designers presenting their collections that night for their use of textured fabrics and creativity. She also urged them to stay inspired and true to their art, “and success will find you.”  Past recipients of the award include Michael Kors and Oscar de la Renta. Photo above by Moshe Zusman.

Obamas, Glee, Elmo at Easter Egg Roll

I got up at 1:00 AM for one of the funnest assignments I’ve ever had. Covering the White House Easter Egg Roll. I thought wedges would be great for the lawn affair but soon realized the open-toewas no match for the early morning dew! Probably more uncomfortable than me were the dozens of characters in mascot uniforms… OMG proudly scored the first on-cam interview with the Roll’s power couple: Mr & Mrs Bunny.

See my wusa9 report below that includes the First Family, Glee’s performance, my basketball skills and interview with Elmo!
