Strength in Numbers: Pink Jam's "Thousand Words"

What an inspiring night. 100 spectacular photos of people in our community… survivors, fighters, lovers, performers. All with words in hand  ready to send breast cancer a message.

The exhibit at the Atlas Performing Arts Center was presented by Pink Jams and Shoot for Change. Titled “A Thousand Words” the exhibit brought together brave faces of those who’ve been touched by breast cancer.

Hats off to Pink Jams’ Christa Floresca and Shoot for Change’s Walter Grio. The dynamic duo proved we can all think pink through the power of black and white.

Check out some of our friends featured in the exhibit below. We caught up with Kate Marie Grinold, Ashley Estill, Nadine & Bryan Namoff, Jennifer Harlow, Friends of CBCC and Lynda Erkiletian.. who was so kind to give this mommy’s arms a short break 😉

Take one look at his picture… and do you even ask why?

Congrats to DC’s Yonas Kutlu who won the Macveneers Model search for 2010 this fall.  He used to complain of little teeth and didn’t smile with his mouth open.  When he walked into Aesthetic Dental Spa, he didn’t even know that there was something Dr. Alex could do for him.  Two visits later, he had a smile makeover with 10 Veneers.Depending on Macveneers’ ad campaign this year, you may see him in Vogue and In Style Magazines!

PICTURES: Yonas’ teeth before smile makeover

BUT you’ve probably seen him around town already. Yonas (who’s single!) is currently a bartender at The Park at 14th and has even been on the cover of  On Tap magazine as best bartender.

Tommy Hilfiger was in town to host Fashion’s Fight Against MS– an ORANGE Event. Held at the beautiful Washington Club in Dupont, the runway show included local models and DC Housewives’ Michaele Salahi, who recently announced she has MS. Hilfiger has a close tie to the cause too.. his sister battles the disease. On DC fashion, Hilfiger said Obama is one of the best dressed politicians but Michelle ‘takes the cake.’ He added the key to being fashionable is keeping it classic– when you try to hard you end up looking ridiculous, he said. More of my interview with the American designer will air Friday during the WUSA Morning Show.
