FAMILY Magazine mom profile

The May FAMILY Magazine issue is out and we had so much fun being a part of it.  Adora was a little crazy at the shoot.. but she’s just 2 after all. Special thanks to photographer Cyndy Porter and Cornwell Styling’s James and Carla. The team was phenomenal and SO patient! Being interviewed by veteran writer Charlene Giannetti was a great experience too. You can find the magazine pretty much everywhere across town.. but you can also check out the digital copy.  We’ve got behind-the-scenes photos from the shoot too.

Happy birthday Chin!

We celebrate Chin with Korean BBQ and one major cupcake. We love you mom!

She wore it best

Growing up I was captivated by my mother’s beauty. She was always so put together and had the most stylish clothes. My father called her “Foxy”  and more than 30 years later still does. I always loved this Christmas picture of my mom from 1985. After 26 years she finally let me borrow it. Would you ever wear your mom’s clothes?

My angry mother

You can’t get more angry than this. It just ain’t right.

Shave for the Brave Approaching

On Wednesday September 21st where will you be? Can I convince you to join me and 46 brave moms at Union Station. These women will shave their heads in honor of their beautiful children battling cancer. It’s the 2nd Annual 46 Mommas Shave for the Brave and we want all the support we can get!

Celebrity shavers will be on hand to help the mommas out. Please come out and help cheer these wonderful women on. PR at Partners from Chevy Chase is bringing their talented team and photographer Tim Coburn will be doing before and after shots.

Why 46? That’s how many mothers are told each day that “your child has cancer.” The goal this year is to raise $1 Million dollars for St. Baldrick’s. We hope to see you at Union Station Sept. 21st!

Mom who makes Noms

Nikki's white cake with chocolate chip cookie dough filling for baby's 6 month old birthday

I love seeing women start their own businesses. I have the utmost admiration for moms, especially new ones who venture into this world. Meet my neighbor and girlfriend Nikki Hill. She just had a baby like an hour ago and also around the same time decided to start Noms by Nikki. What’s a nom you ask? According to Nik it’s an onomatopoeic adjective based on the sound emitted when something is “oh so tasty.” I can attest her noms live up to it’s definition.

See exhibit A & B below- the chocolate cake with peanut butter buttercream icing she made me. It was gone in 1.5 days.

You can see from her creations she can do just about anything: cake pops, chocolates, cakes, brownies, cookies, you name it.

Chin talks tech

Chin only does 3-D movies

Angie on phone: Good morning mom.

Chin: Hi, I didn’t watch your show this morning.

Angie: Oh, it’s okay mom. You don’t have to watch every show.

Chin: I was playing Angry Bird.

Angie: What?

Chin: I was too busy playing Angry Bird. How the H$&#! you get to level 5?

More of my Korean momisms here…

Ask Chin: Do you Djay?

It’s been some time since we’ve asked Chin anything. This time we wanna know if she can spin the decks. She’s not internationally known but I assure you she’s “Big in Herndon.”
