Pink Jams: 14 Survivors Strut Their Stuff

There’s no show like it in DC! Honestly it was one of the most beautiful I’ve attended. Pink Jams hosted it’s annual Pink Fashion Rocks with the fabulous Christian Siriano headlining. Maggy Francois produced the show.

Moshe’s Exciting Move

One of my favorite photographers has moved. It’s a good one though. Moshe Zusman moved into an amazing studio space right on Florida Avenue and 14th Street. The corner studio has sky high ceilings, two floors and a gorgeous display of some of his most magnificent work. We dropped by the Grand Opening of Moshe Zusman Photography presented by DC Magazine.

FAMILY Magazine Mother’s Day issue is out!

Baby Adora is featured on the cover. She was awesome during the shoot with photographer Moshe Zusman.  Make-up artist Nour Kazoun helped us get dolled up for the shot taken in the 9NEWS NOW newsroom. Thank you to Amy  Carney Bevins for a great article on us balancing work with motherhood. The magazine came out this week– you can find them at supermarkets, coffee shops and business offices across the metro area.

'Talk Teal' uses art to fight sexual abuse

‘Talk Teal’ was held at Muleh on 14th Street.. using photographs and mannequins to send the message sexual abuse is not ok. Alex Naini contributed to this report on WUSA9.

Many people have asked  about Adora’s room. Thanks to Katharine Hauschka we’ve got a couple shots. Originally I wanted an ‘all white’ theme but soon found that brown and neutral accents worked nicely. You wouldn’t think but it was really tough trying to find ‘all white’ stuff that went together. I like how it turned out even with the controversial Mona Lisa. 🙂

Newborn Photo Shoot

Photographer Moshe Zusman gave me some of the best advice prior to the birth of my baby. He said- get pictures of your newborn done immediately- everything changes so much after one week- their purplish hands and toes, pruned skin, swollen eyes. So we did. Adora wrote about it on her blog with some behind-the-scenes shots. When I saw the final pictures I cried. You want your baby to grow, to get bigger, to open their eyes but at the same time you want to remember them like this forever. You want to remember how much you stared at every little thing for hours ( like the hair on her ears) trying to understand how this was possible. That something so amazing, so real and little could come from ‘you.’  Thank you Moshe for giving us these moments to cherish always. See more pictures from the shoot at Moshe’s Blog.

Our Maternity Shoot

In a few weeks… our lives change forever.

At 8 months preggers I decided I better capture this belly before it goes. Every mom tells me as much of a pain it can be, once it’s gone ‘you’re gonna miss it.’

So I agreed to a shoot with one of the most trusted photographers in Washington.. Moshe Zusman. It can be stressful taking pictures when despite what others tell you… you just don’t feel your best. Moshe made it very comfortable for me and my husband who is to say the least, camera shy. I love how real they are. A true reflection of our love, excitement and anticipation during what has turned out to be the biggest waiting game of our lives. See more pictures from the shoot on Moshe’s blog

First Lady's Designer Gets 'All Doll'd Up'

See the full story as aired on the WUSA9 Morning Show

WASHINGTON, DC (WUSA)– Oh My GOFF! Angie Goff on Isabel Toldeo of First Lady fashion fame, named Designer of the Year.

The designer made famous by Michelle Obama was honored by Marymount University at the college’s Portfolio in Motion ‘All Doll’d Up’ show. Virtually unknown before fashion risk-taker Obama chose her to design an Inauguration Day ensemble, Isabel Toledo was named ‘Designer of the Year.’ She praised the young designers presenting their collections that night for their use of textured fabrics and creativity. She also urged them to stay inspired and true to their art, “and success will find you.”  Past recipients of the award include Michael Kors and Oscar de la Renta. Photo above by Moshe Zusman.
