Our celebration of St. Patrick’s Day continues with some fun snacks and crafts. Create a rainbow anywhere with just tissue paper and streamers! Then surprise the kids with cupcake sleeves filled with lucky charms. Let them have fun dyeing the milk green! This was my daughter’s favorite part. Update on the Leprechaun trap: no luck yet!

The Back Story: I found out about Waverly and her family through another brave woman Danielle Leach. Years ago I met Danielle after she lost her 5 year old son to cancer. Danielle said she thought I should know about the loving spirit of these amazing parents and children. She was right. We should all know about them.

You can’t walk away from a moment like this and not feel empowered! We had a star panel of women leaders to kick off the inaugural Junior League of Washington Women’s Leadership Luncheon. I love how April Young, the Managing Director of Hercules Technology Growth Capital said that the idea is to continue to make progress so one day we’re not having women leadership lunches.. but rather leadership lunches! The personal stories of struggle, success, failure and humility really captivated the room. Hats off to our other rockstar panelists Bhavana Boggs of Ritz Carlton, WeddingWire’s Kara DelVecchio, Kelli Richardson Lawson from JOY Media Collective and the fab Cathy Merrill Williams of Washingtonian Media!
