La Vien En Rose

What a gorgeous affair! La Vien En Rose was held at the French Embassy and I had the pleasure of attending with Eun. The room was completely pinked out in celebration of the George Washington University Medical Faculty Associate’s Mammovan. Cokie Roberts gave an inspirational pep talk about why early detection and mammograms are so vital in saving lives. This is especially true in DC ..where the mortality rate from breast cancer is the highest in the world.
Speaking from the heart Carly Fiorina.. a breast cancer survivor and former CEO of Hewlett-Packard got the crowd on their feet. Her personal story and encouraging words for everyone to be leaders in this fight was flawless and genuine.

The mind behind the Manolos– Candace Bushnell was in town talking Carrie before we knew her. Bushnell, an author and NYC columnist who inspired the famed SATC series and movies is taking us back, way back. Her new book Summer and the City (The Carrie Diaries) is the prequel to SATC introducing us to the lives of the fab four when they were friends in high school.

Pink Painted bikini and big hearts Race for the Cure

The sun was shining and the pink was popping at the annual Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure in DC. There were so many inspirational stories. While hosting the pre-show I met awesome people like a guy who painted a pink bikini on him in name of his grandmother who has breast cancer. Andrea Roane shined as the Mistress of Ceremonies and the WUSA9 booth in Komen Village created a mob fest! So much fun! Thank you to all who came out!
