Salon Lynne turns 1

14th Street boutique salon owner Lynne Wooden hosted guests in celebration for the Salon Lynne one year anniversary. TV personality Paul Wharton served as the night’s emcee. Fashions Night Out Kick-Off

The excitement is on again this year! Georgetown will once again be a select fashion city to host it’s own Fashions Night Out. Save September 8th for an evening of fun, entertainment in the streets, great deals and high fashion. The host committee got together for a kick-off toast what promises to be one of the best events to kick off the Fall event season!

Aidah’s Anniversary Runway Show

Hillyer Art Space was popping Saturday night with philanthropists, fashionistas and socialites for Aidah’s 3rd Anniversary Runway Show & Benefit. The celebration was hosted by Bravo celebrity Paul Wharton and featured Aidah’s Spring 2011 collection and a peek into next Fall. Guests left with swag bags stuffed with an assortment of goodies from Kiehl’s products to Catalyst Gourmet treats. Proceeds benefitted Girls Inc. of Washington DC.

Fashion for Paws: Big names, big money

The area’s biggest animal fashion fundraiser of the year raised $520,000 for the Washington Humane Society. Entertainment Tonight’s fashion expert Lawrence Zarian served as honorary host at the annual Fashion for Paws runway show. A string of reality show stars, athletes and DC movers and shakers walked the runway. Nicki Minaj paints DC pink

Hip-hop queen Nicki Minaj shut down DC’s The Park at Fourteenth for ‘Pink Sunday‘ – the exclusive after party for the I am Still Music Tour concert, held at the Verizon Center.  Nicki and her crew hit-up the invitation-only party to celebrate with local and international celebrities.

                                      

VIP guests included professional athletes like  Washington Capitals Nicklas Bastrom and Mike Green; Wizards Nick Young, Javale Mcgee, and Andray Blatche; and NFL players from the Dolphins, 49ers, Vikings and Cardinals.  Local celebrities like stylist/ TV personality Paul Wharton, K Street Kate’s Kate Michael, and stylist/ photographer duo James Cornwell and Tim Coburn also joined the party. ’Pink Sunday’ was presented by Dave & Ray Ent. and The Standard Events.   By Rachel DeMita

Siriano, Wharton headline 'Chic' Affair

A panel of wedding pros gave advice, tips and how-to’s at ‘A Chic Affair’ to prepare Washington’s brides-to-be for their special day. The experts included Project Runway winner & bridal designer Christian Siriano, TV personality and style guru Paul Wharton, the Dandelion Patch’s Heidi Kallett, and award-winning event designer Jaime Greenwald. Brides brought along husbands, mothers and friends to The Historical Society of Washington DC to mingle with top wedding vendors of the area – featuring jewelry, stationary, honeymoon planning, cakes & confections, and more. Guests were also treated to complementary tastings, a catering demo by Chef Jacques Haeriner, and a high-fashion briday runway show. A Chic Affair was produced by RGI Events. Sweet 16 celebration, for a sweet girl and a sweet charity

R&B star Ginuwine and his wife Tonya Lumpkin, previously known as rapper Sole, hosted their daughter Cypress Lee’s Sweet 16 at DC hotspot Eden to benefit the Somaly Mam Foundation - a charity that aims to end modern-day human trafficking. This was not your ordinary spoiled-child Sweet-16… the celebration raised over $2,000 for the charity, as Cypress’ guests were asked to donate money at the door in lieu of gifts. Before making her birthday wish and blowing out the candles, Cypress enjoyed the smooth singing of Father Ginuwine for a very special a cappella ’Happy Birthday song.’ Notable guests at the bash included Paul Wharton of Bravo’s Real Housewives of DC, celebrity plastic surgeon Dr. Ayman Hakki, and 14-year-old sensation DJ Young Music. Scrumtious hors d’oeuvres were provided from Cafe Asia and cupcakes from Frosting: A Cupcakery.
