Jill Kargman admits that the word ‘nut‘ is meant to be playful and comedic; it is a word that relates to memories from when she was a ‘little girl.’ Now that Kargman is ‘all grown up,’ she is traveling the country and sharing life’s memories in her newest book, Sometimes I Feel Like A Nut. The bestselling author visited Bethesda Row’s Ginger for a special launch and signing of her ‘nutty’ memoirs. The host committee included some of Washington’s most prominent women like Sharon Bradley, Mary Haft, Michelle Jaconi, Stacy Kerr, Norah O’Donnell and Susanna Quinn.
‘The word memoir always feels so dark and heavy, like you had limbs chopped off or something. But this is more of a comedic take… It’s for the MTV generation.’ – Jill Kargman

Cupid’s arrow reached the hearts of children in need, as over 600 Washingtonians stripped down for Cupid’s Undie Run 2011. This year’s race raised over $50,000 for The Children’s Tumor Foundation – the world’s largest non-government organization dedicated to ending Neurofibromatosis (NF). In the spirit of Valentine’s day and amidst the chilly weather, runners put on their flashiest, funniest, sexiest and most stylish undies and took off for a 1.1 mile run from Pennsylvania Ave. to the historic U.S. Capitol Building and back. The post-race party was held at the Pour House Restaurant & Bar, where runners enjoyed giveaways, prizes for outstanding costumes and top fundraisers, and some adult beverages and munchies.
