Throwing a “Breakfast at Tiffany’s” Birthday Party

My daughter turned 3 and now that she’s in school and has girlfriends we decided to do an all girls party! A couple of my friends had done a Breakfast at Tiffany’s theme and thought it was so cute. With the help of event planning mom Katie Wells with Petite Social we came up with a fun and fabulous party just for the little ladies! Activities included digging for diamonds, balloon art, face painting and even a visit from Santa Claus! Party notes are at the end of the post.

Back to work

Cannot believe it’s been 8 weeks! So great to see the boys again!

Look who stopped by

I can’t believe it’s been almost 2 months since I had Bob. My co-anchor Richard aka Uncle Richie came to visit today and met Bob for the first time. It was awesome catching up. I’m looking forward to our reunion come Saturday August 3rd.

Fashion for Paws 2013

Nearly $700,000 was raised at a night filled with furry friends dressed to the nines! It was Fashion for Paws 2013, an show stopping production that included many familiar faces of DC and their pooches. I had a great time walking the runway with little Inko. I would’ve brought Atticus again but these days he’s so strong and being me so pregnant I was afraid I’d have a tough time wrangling him on stage.
I was thrilled to be part of the Lilly Pulitzer part of the show. The evening featured fashions from shops you’d find at Tysons Galleria. E! News’ Ashlan Gorse and Pamela Sorensen did an outstanding job as the night’s emcee and Mistress of Ceremonies. Special thanks to Richard and his friends for coming out to show the support! We were really tired for the show this morning.. but the great cause was worth the no sleep! Photos by Rich Kessler Photography and Travis Vaughn

Top fundraising models Susan Ostrowski, Melinda Griffith and Dr. Ashley Gallagher. Susan Ostrowski raised $37,000, followed by Melinda Griffith at $24,000 and Dr. Ashley Gallagher at $17,900.

Great St. Pat’s

I think St. Patty’s is the best day to have a birthday. Everyone is always in such a fun and festive mood. It started with big chocolate cake and cookies for breakfast thanks to the my awesome morning friends at News4.  You can see the boys got into the St Pat’s spirit too.

Then after work it was all about a long nap and then spending the day with my family. We did a little shopping and then got together for dinner and laughs. Hope everyone had a great holiday… I can’t wait until next year when I can really celebrate with some brew like the rest of you!

Some shoe shopping

Nephew Knox came out to celebrate

Everyone had a jolly old time!

How do you Seuss?

Dr. Seuss is one of my favorite authors. As a child I found he made reading fun. I remember reading his books and poems by Shel Silverstein cover to cover. It brought so much joy and laughter into my life. That’s why I love Read Across America Day so much. Students celebrate the art of reading while remembering one of literature’s greats.

Today the News4 Today Team visited different schools in Prince George’s county. As someone who spent some of my childhood years living in Fort Washington I was so happy to return to the area to read Miss Lacey Greene’s 1st graders at J Frank Dent Elementary. We chose which Dr. Seuss book to read based off their applause. “How the Grinch Stole Christmas” brought the house down. So there we had it.. Christmas in March!

Festive front officeTom Kierein having a blast!

Photographer Irene shows kids at Spring Hill Elementary the LIVE Truck. Tony Tull read to them today!
