Foxy Leesburg Lights Show

This morning in my morning report I showed a local house that’s really getting into the holiday spirit. Ylvis’ song “What does the Fox Say” has more than 150 million views and it’s now drawing scores of eyeballs to Leesburg Virginia.
The incredible Halloween light display is powered with more than 8,500 lights. Although cool– does this annoy the neighbors? Don’t worry this isn’t blasting 24-7, in fact to hear the lights you drive by and tune into the radio. If you wanna see it.. head to the Edwards Landing Community in Leesburg. The show runs on a continuous loop from 7PM to 9PM through Halloween. You’ll wanna tune in to 98.1 FM to hear it. More info here on their facebook page. Oh and as for that electric bill– the family says it’s about 25-35 dollars to run the display for the Halloween season. Not bad.

Asian Pacific American Special on NBC4!

Mike Kim helped North Koreans escape through a modern day underground railroad that runs through China, Laos and Thailand

I am so excited about what’s happening this Saturday. At 10am (following our show!) NBC4 presents it’s Asian-Pacific American Special. It’s 30 minutes jam packed with stories that will get you thinking and above all inspire! You will walk away having learned something guaranteed!

Ginger and Frances Park are two sisters who started DC's first Chocolate Shop more than 30 years ago. But behind the sweet treats.. is a story inspired by survival.

Along with tackling some big cultural issues like immigration.. the show will venture into something for everyone. There’s plenty for foodies to get excited about and music fans get ready for a great one-on-on with Richard On of O.A.R.!
We also take a close look at local Asian Americans who are changing our community and the world. One of the stories I contributed is about an Arlington man who’s tourist trip to China turned into a life long mission to help an oppressed people. Mike Kim gave up his successful financial business in the US and moved to the North Korea-China border to help North Koreans escape. This after discovering a 6,000 mile modern underground railroad. His story is heart-wrenching, fascinating and gives one hope. It even caught the eye of some of Hollywood’s biggest producers.
Don’t miss this great show hosted by Eun Yang this Saturday!
Tune in at 10AM after News4 Today on NBC4!

The Junkies

Whew! That’s what I said when my in-studio visit with the Sports Junkies was over. I had heard horror but funny stories from previous gal pals who were guests. In the end actually thought the guys: EB, JP, Lurch and Cakes were true gentlemen (attractive too).  I learned that dandruff is still a big problem and I dig accents from Baltimore. All in all it was a ton of fun and I’m thankful for the invite. It was also nice to see Mike Wise stop in to during the show. Special thanks to Executive Producer Bret and WUSA photographer Kevin King. Did you miss it? Now worries… check out their podcast which includes both segments. Tune in to the WUSA9 Morning Show Tuesday to see a recap of the visit.

Kirk, Mike, Jack… we crash DC radio

What a morning! After we wrapped the show we decided to drop in on our favorite radio buds in town. First stop was at 105.9 The Edge where we squeezed into a sweltering studio for the hilarious Kirk & Mike Show. From calling out Howard Bernstien’s “pancake face” to teasing a mud wrestling match between Andrea and me when they return… the boys had us rolling. Tune in to 9NEWS’ Morning Show Friday for video evidence of our visit.

Fran Drescher at MODUS Union 2011

DC Housewives’ Mary Amons and her charity Labels of Love pulled off a spectacular show at MODUS Union 2011 benefiting Cancer Schmancer.

Fran Drescher was pink hot and front row to enjoy the Mark Bouwer show that supported the actress’ cause.
