Whoop HAIR it is… highlights!

Saturday, July 24th, 2010

My friend Souny West invited me to check out her new hip & happening salon nestled in the town of Burke, VA.  It’s called W Salon and they do everything from cuts, style, waxing, manis .. you name it! While I was there her rockin’ sister Sue convinced me to try some highlights around my face.

I’ve never done that (with exception to my middle school Sun-In days) and I was scared. She promised she would make them very faint, almost unnoticeable until the sun hit them. I went for it and just love the sun-kissed outcome! (To all who may be concerned… dying your hair is not harmful during pregnancy- that’s a myth!)

Society 2.0: Tracking DC’s Top Social Status

Wednesday, March 24th, 2010

There’s probably a lot of stuff out there you’d be surprised to find out about the so called movers ‘n’ shakers in this city. That’s why I’m tracking it online and bringing you the ‘best of’ every week in my new Washington Life online column Society 2.0!

It’s called the Social Status Report and today I pluck pix and bits from the twitter pages of Luke Russert, Leslie Sanchez at CNN, socialite Susanna Quinn and MTV International’s Blonde Charity Mafia’s Sophie Pyle.

Read It Now: Society 2.0

We also hear from Queen Rania about Twestival. The 2010 DC Twestival is this Thursday at Shadow Room and benefits CONCERN, a charity that helps poor children through education. Buy your tickets for Twestival today!

Birthday with Solid Friends & LiquidA

Monday, March 22nd, 2010

Thanks to sister-for-life Kristina Dorville who took it back old school to Arlington to celebrate my life. How old you ask? According to the picture on the right..I’d say about 5. (And while we’re on this picture why not add: cheeky Carissa is a supermodel- had to steal that one from Lauren P)

It’s a great example of a carefree night had by all at the Clarendon Grill in Arlington. Apparently, there was another girl named Katie celebrating her birthday too but my good friends made it clear to the band there was truly only ONE party in the house! All you had to do was look for the front row of friends who created the first ever ‘hit line’. Yep excessive ’fist pumping’ was in the air and our energetic ring leader was none other than good friend Katherine Kennedy. If our performance didn’t win you over chances are we had you at “Want a mini red velvet cupcake from Bakeshop?”  Justin the owner of the new Arlington joint was so sweet to send dozens of the birthday bites our way.  [Pictured above: Carissa, Jesse, Dr. Alex, Angie & Lauren P. BELOW: AOII love from Stephanie, Alicia, Kymberly & Sandra Elizabeth]

Don’t forget the liquid that kept us rockin’… LiquidA that is!

PS: Dear friends, I love you. xxAngie

Looks like the Hollywood Reporter confirms “Cupcake Girls” is the working title for the reality show that will follow the sweet adventures of Georgetown Cupcake co-owners and sisters Sophie LaMontagne and Katherine Kallinis. Shooting is rumored to have already started and the first episode is scheduled to air on TLC this July! 6 episodes were ordered.

What do you think of the title?
