Under the Rainbow

Our celebration of St. Patrick’s Day continues with some fun snacks and crafts. Create a rainbow anywhere with just tissue paper and streamers!¬† Then surprise the kids with cupcake sleeves filled with lucky charms. Let them have fun dyeing the milk green! This was my daughter’s favorite part. Update on the Leprechaun trap: no luck yet!

Making a Leprechaun Trap

It’s March 1st so the official countdown to one of my favorite holidays (not because it’s my birthday hee hee) is on! St. Patrick’s Day is right around the corner which means we don’t have much time to catch that tricky Leprechaun. The kids had the best time making a trap. It’s so easy. All you need is a shoe box, a stick or pencil and some moss. Fill the box up and prop the top with the stick. You can bait the leprechaun with mini pots of gold, coins, skittles or me lucky charms! We know the little guys like rainbows too.. so we added one on the box. As we were making the trap Adora asked me if leprechauns have families. I told her of course they do. She then got sad and said.. well if we trap him then what about his family. I told her it’s like a fish.. we always throw it back ūüôā

Great St. Pat’s

I think St. Patty’s is the best day to have a birthday. Everyone is always in such a fun and festive mood. It started with big chocolate cake and cookies for breakfast thanks to the my awesome morning friends at News4.¬† You can see the boys got into the St Pat’s spirit too.

Then after work it was all about a long nap and then spending the day with my family. We did a little shopping and then got together for dinner and laughs. Hope everyone had a great holiday… I can’t wait until next year when I can really celebrate with some brew like the rest of you!

Some shoe shopping

Everyone had a jolly old time!

A ShamRockin’ Birthday

My St. Patrick’s Day got off to a great start. Around 5AM the wonderful morning show crew surprised me with cupcakes and a cake (that tasted like COSTCO cake- my favorite!). Between the flowers, facebook messages and tweets, phone calls and texts I feel very fortunate to have lived another year and to have had such incredible people in my life. Thank you! Be safe everyone and hope you strike the luck of the Irish today!

Birthday with Solid Friends & LiquidA

Thanks to sister-for-life Kristina Dorville who took it back old school to Arlington¬†to celebrate my life. How old you ask? According to the picture on the¬†right..I’d say about¬†5. (And while we’re on this picture why not add: cheeky Carissa is a supermodel- had to steal that one¬†from Lauren P)

It’s a great example of a carefree night¬†had by all at the Clarendon Grill in Arlington. Apparently, there was another girl named Katie celebrating her birthday too but my good friends made it clear to the band there was truly only ONE party in the house! All you had to do was look for¬†the front row of friends who created the first¬†ever ‘hit line’. Yep excessive¬†‘fist pumping’ was in the air and¬†our energetic ring leader was¬†none other than¬†good friend Katherine Kennedy. If our performance¬†didn’t win you over chances are we had you at “Want a mini red velvet cupcake from Bakeshop?”¬† Justin the owner of the new Arlington joint was so sweet to send dozens of the birthday bites our way.¬† [Pictured above: Carissa, Jesse, Dr. Alex, Angie & Lauren P.
