Rack It Up Ladies!

I love this new local startup… and it’s a must bookmark for that serious shopper or anyone who likes to get clothes online! Rack It Up is a virtual closet website where users can collect their favorite items from their favorite online stores and RIU lets you know when anything in your closet goes on sale in your size!
How It Works: you shop on any other website, like nordstrom.com or saks.com and ‘rack up’ your favorite items in your closet. An item gets placed in your closet by using the ‘RackItUp’ button which your prompted to install when you create an account (similar to the ‘Pin It’ button on Pinterest). Just drag the button up into your bookmarks bar and the racking can begin.

When a user Racks an item they’re prompted to enter their personal size, color preference & can even enter when they’d like to receive a sale alert for that item- when it goes on sale in general or when it drops by a certain dollar amount or percentage that they can manually enter. As soon as any item in their closet goes on sale in their size & drops to the price they’re willing to pay, we email them a sale alert!! Also we have a feature called Browse the Rack, so users can go there and re-rack any item that catches their eye, enter their personal size and add it to their closet.
RIU is also a community so you can stalk your friends closets: re-rack items they have, love items & comment on items! Happy racking!

There are so many darn smart people in this town. The brains behind the digital and tech scene blow my mind. Which is why I’m not surprised that government is starting to recognize the potential and need to team up. Hello 1776! That’s the name of the new epicenter for the DC startup community. The building is now the place entrepreneurs looking to solve our nation’s biggest problems will convene. Just blocks away from the White House 1776 will help accelerate startups from around the world.. connecting them to political, intellectual, social and financial capital. This is a gem.
1776 is co-founded and led by Evan Burfield, Chair of Startup DC, and Donna Harris, who will transition from her role as Managing Director at Startup America.

The build out is expected to be done by March
