OMG 2/22/10: Fashion Forecast 2010

Giovanna & Angie Cover MB Fashion Week

OMG on WUSA9 February 22, 2010

Fashion icons Anna Wintour and Andre’ Leon Talley are amongst style royalty to turn out as Fashion Week draws to an end. Carolina Herrera stays true to her classic couture.. revealing ruffles, high waist trousers and florals as trends for 2010.  IMG’s Fern Mallis talk about NYFW’s last time at Bryant Park and what’s ahead.

Hear it for NY, NY, NY… Fashion Week

FOX NY's Giovanna Drpic & WUSA's Angie GoffWait til you see the video and pics to come but first a glimpse of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Spring 2010. I interviewed Max Azria about his designs for Herve’ Leger and chatted with “the creator” of NYFW Fern Mallis, Senior VP of IMG Fashion. Mallis told me she loved Azria’s BCBG line and thought Carolina Herrera’s show was “beautiful”. Who was she impressed with? Mallis says  “Rebecca Taylor”.  Mallis also said she really liked all the patchwork she saw in different shows. Looks like that and bleached out denim will be big trends this season.

Along with the shows came the parties. My news gal pal FoxNY’s Giovanna Drpic joined me at the Ugly Betty/Elle Magazine event at The Capitale. The entire cast was there including a stunning Vanessa Williams in a bold stripe dress that hugged her figure. We wrapped the evening at “The Gates” and good friend entertainment marketer Danny Estrada who introduced us to the so sweet Nole’ Marin of  Top Model/True Beauty fame.(below)

Across the runway at Herve’ Leger I spotted NY Socialite (but Richmond native) Tinsley Mortimer in pink… who’s reality show in the making is rumored to have bumped DC’s “Blonde Charity Mafia” off the CW.

At the show I ran into my DC friends Charlie Paret, Erwin Gomez and James Packard-Gomez.
