Korean Fast Food arrives

I love Korean food…. and the faster I can get my hands on it the better. That’s why when I got a tweet that Mixing Bowl was opening at Tysons Corner.. I immediately replied… I’m going tomorrow! I did and my family decided to tag along. Think Subway but Korean style. They have choices of different bi bim bap (rice bowls) and Korean tacos! You have to get the sour cream mayo sauce on top. For rice they even give you the option of brown or white. Loved seeing a Korean must have-Kimchee on the menu.  Follow @mixingbowlTC on twitter for upcoming news and locations. My husband and I agreed.. every time we’re at the mall..we’re eating there!

Rice bowl.. the spicy pork has kick and ALWAYS get the egg and red pepper sauce!

Mama Phan on right is the owner!

Mixing Bowl is located by the rotating sushi restaurant on the first floor

Windows for Washington

Store wide open. The entrance to the new Microsoft Store at Tysons Corner Center reflects that of a big window. Hmmm. It’s the first of it’s kind in the DC area. From first glance it looks like an Apple Store set up.. but get closer and you’ll notice differences.

NBC4: Microsoft Store Opens

The tables have wood trim there’s gaming set ups including controls against one wall… there’s a dance game area… something called the heat room which is a place Microsoft can host events and seminars. Kids played games on the touchscreen tables… and I saw one adult playing a game of virtual chess. The new Microsoft store is very interactive which proved inviting on opening day.

Tory Burch is open!

Tory Burch’s first DC store has it’s signature orange lacquer towering doors wide open at Tysons Galleria. We stopped by the soft opening for the boutique that boasts her signature snow leopard chairs and graphic print curtains.  The shop carries a wide variety of the designer’s collection including shoes and handbags in addition to clothes. In it’s opening days guests also enjoyed complimentary spirits and sugar cookies imprinted with Burch’s famous T logo. A grand opening is schedule for September. Check out the 9NEWS NOW Morning Show  page for more info.

Too small to fit into anything Adora remains a fan

Psst… have you heard? The Bra Whisperer is here

Ladies.. listen up. The ‘Bra Whisperer’ has waltzed her way into Washington, opening up her first store Intimacy Bras in our area at Tysons Corner center!

WATCH: Angie interviews “Bra Whisperer”

With more than 15 years of experience, including being trained by the Queen of England’s Royal Bra Fitter, it’s no surprise Susan Nethero was deemed the ‘Bra Whisperer’ by fashion expert Carson Kressley. Nethero even has Oprah in her fan club.

MORE: 5 Lingerie Drawer Must-Haves as seen on Oprah

The founder of Intimacy Bras says studies find 85% of women are wearing the wrong bra. She says the biggest mistake.. wearing one that is too big around the back. She says to think of your bra as a see-saw… pull it down in the back to get the lift in the front. Nethero adds lingerie must-haves are a plunging bra, a converter bra and something red.  HOT!

harth Opening: Hot Eats, Cool Show

The storms couldn’t put a damper on the red hot grand opening of harth, the new signature restaurant at the Hilton McLean Tysons Corner. We were greeted by fire breathers and dancers. The red carpet came out for the celebration that drew hundreds of hungry Washingtonians. Guests enjoyed a sampling of what harth has to offer- food that supports local farmers! LOVIN THAT! One of my faves: Cheddar and Chives Popovers made with poached eggs, sundried tomato hollandaise and bacon jam. Loved the contrast of wood fire burning ovens and dripping ice bars in the lobby. SAKS presented an eye-pleasing show with this summer’s most stylish bikinis and big hats. The cool finale– two ice carvers jammin’ out while creating a sculpture for the audience. Loved having my sister Tricia who is visiting from Texas join me. She was a great help with Adora while I shot video.
