Babies… rejoice! Baby Loves Disco’s Superhero Tour is finally making its way to DC.

This Wednesday August 17th, boogie down with Baby Loves Disco at Rock and Roll Hotel on H Street for a superhero themed disco party for toddlers and youngsters packed with dancing, crafts and even drinks for mom and dads.

But the day has an even bigger picture, big enough for a superhero. Baby Loves Disco is holding a diaper and donation drive. Yoni Lee contributed to this report


“Go the ___ to Sleep” Cracks Up DC Parents

Adam Mansbach, author of the hilarious lullaby parody ‘Go the F*** to Sleep’ stopped by DC’s P.J. Clarke’s for a reading and signing. Adam had the audience laughing to tears as he shared his journey as a writer and parent.

Guests had the chance to ask questions, one of whom asked whether Mansbach preferred  Samuel Jackson’s reading or Werner Herzog’s reading. Mansbach revealed that although both are fantastic and very funny, he likes Samuel Jackson’s reading slightly better.

Thoughts of a Butterfly

Art Soiree hosted a private event for ‘Thoughts of a Butterfly’ book release at Puro Lounge in Georgetown. The crowd, like the awe-inspiring book, was in good spirits enjoying drinks and live jazz music outdoors.

Let go, laugh, live, love is Shirley Ramos personal credo and motif in her new book ‘Thoughts of a Butterfly’. After suffering a stroke at the young age of 29, Shirley grabs her second chance at life with passion, even writing a book of poems about her journey. Yoni Lee contributed to this OMG report.

Over 20,000 enthusiastic, talented (sometimes underappreciated) students contribute their know-how and time to DC’s competitive market, nonprofits and government agencies as next generation’s leaders.

Kirk, Mike, Jack… we crash DC radio

What a morning! After we wrapped the show we decided to drop in on our favorite radio buds in town. First stop was at 105.9 The Edge where we squeezed into a sweltering studio for the hilarious Kirk & Mike Show. From calling out Howard Bernstien’s “pancake face” to teasing a mud wrestling match between Andrea and me when they return… the boys had us rolling. Capitol File “Power List” Party

DC’s most powerful according to Capitol File Magazine gathered for the 2011 Power List party held at the luxury high-rise Turnberry Tower. Making the list this year include House Speaker John Boehner, House Majority Leader Eric Cantor, Tina Brown, ABC’s Jake Tapper and the First Lady’s stylist Meredith Koop.

Honorees spotted at the party include Washington Wizards’ John Wall and political strategist and ultimate party host Juleanna Glover.

Side note, according to the Georgetown Dish Turnberry Tower is where Barbara Allbritton, executive VP of Allbritton Communications Co., and wife of Joe Allbritton, just bought a three-bedroom unit for only $2.4 Mil.

Corcoran Ball draws crowd, orchestra

 Corcoran’s most anticipated gala of the year was celebrated this past weekend with over 1,000 attendees. Guests were welcomed to the black-tie event by spectacular décor, pianist and dozens of cocktail waiters. The evening began with a VIP cocktail hour, followed by an extravagant three course dinner and dancing with music of Radio King Orchestra and Phil McCusker & Orchestra. Proceeds from the Corcoran Ball go to the College and provide scholarships. "Coleman's Juice" is top cocktail at Artini 2011

12 of DC’s best mixologists competed to create the most delicious and artistic martini. Each martini was showcased on their ‘Feature Night’ throughout March, but the moment of truth arrived at Artini.


The Critics’ Choice winner was announced late evening- Ronald Flores of Art and Soul with William Christenberry sculpture inspired ‘Coleman’s Juice’. The Gentleman Jack Tennessee whiskey based drink was garnished with a homemade Slim Jim and had a smokey flavor. Corcoran Art Gallery by trade was transformed into an upscale party by night with Washingtonians in their best cocktail dresses sampling each martini.

Cherry blossom yoga honors Jayna Murray

District yogis gathered in front of the National Monument for a moving practice with celebrity instructor and Lululemon ambassador Faith Hunter. The somber morning started with a moment of silence in honor of Jayna Murray.

Live music, pinking blossoms and positive energy helped warm up the crowd and by mid-session, the sun broke the clouds.
