Fairfax Va– Waverly McNeil’s parents aren’t convinced there’s time for current research to save their children.. so they’re doing anything they can to prevent another family from going through this heartache.

The Back Story: I found out about Waverly and her family through another brave woman Danielle Leach. Years ago I met Danielle after she lost her 5 year old son to cancer. Danielle said she thought I should know about the loving spirit of these amazing parents and children. She was right. We should all know about them.

Local video selected for Youtube feature film

Remember when acclaimed producer Ridley Scott and Kevin Macdonald called on the youtube community to submit their “Life in a Day” video from July 24, 2010? Since then the team has cut down more than 80,000 submissions into a 90 minute documentary that will premiere at Sundance.

I’m happy to report that the submission from Milinda Jefferson and Jerome Bourgeois from DC was one of the clips chosen! Milinda told me their July 24th was spent at the Weekend of Remembrance. It’s a weekend set aside to honor families of fallen military members. Milinda spent the day promoting the Honor and Remember flag which you’ll see often in the raw footage I’ve posted below. How much of their clips will make it to the big screen..we’ll have to wait and see. Congrats and thank you for always keeping our brave men and women and their families in your thoughts and prayers.

Georgetown Cupcake Gets TLC Reality Show

georgetowncupcake.comAn industry insider tells me DC’s sweetest duo, sisters Katherine and Sophie of Georgetown Cupcake will star in their own reality show. Production for a series on TLC is scheduled to start this month. The network is already running a popular pastry inspired show Cake Boss.

From what I’m told the plot digs way past the frosting… into the core of what’s behind this cupcake making power that has taken the Nation’s capitol by storm!

I have to admit Katherine & Sophie are two of my favorite guests in studio and I love that they let me go wild with the frosting tube! Do you have a favorite flavor at GC?

Sex and the City II

Thanks to my buddy DC doc Howard Brooks for the heels up on this…. looking forward to Carrie’s sport chic style that we get a glimpse of in the trailer!

I’m also loving the desert scenes! Mr Big is definitely back… and it looks like Samantha is still hot and heavy and on the prowl.

What a tease… May 28th…seems so far away.
